As for the handlebars, they sure do look like they are one piece at first glance, KTM had hidden the attachment fastener inline with the bar, or at least it seemed that way looking at it.
Yup, it's H2R. It had been months since I rode when I took the RC390 a couple of weeks ago so I don't know if the bike track day schedule has changed. Last I remember, we were on the first Saturday and third Sunday of the month. But yeah, take a rain check and just let me know when you can come out.

It does look like a set of clip ons can be installed by removing the existing bars. Still needs a top triple to make it clean though.

Honda's CBR300R vs Kawasaki's Ninja 300 vs KTM's new RC390 vs Yamaha's new YZF-R3

read any review on any off road KTM bike. The WP suspension gets bashed, it can't compete with Yamaha's SSS out of the box.

You must have also missed the recall on ktm off road motorcycles because the WP suspension internals would fall apart and seize :

I am really surprised that R3 is not faster than Ninja. KTM, they should've brought in Duke instead.

Rode an RC for about 30 minutes today.

My impression of it -

Power is adequate, but not impressive. Handling and overall feel is light. Mirrors are worthless. Brakes seemed adequate. Doesn't rev very high. Sound is uninspiring.

After about 20 minutes I got some tingling in the fingers of my right hand.

Didn't feel any faster than our Pregen Ninja 250, but it must be.

Feels and sounds like a single-cylinder dirt bike with fairings and street wheels - only not as tall...

Agreed, this is one of the factors that would have me leaning towards the Ninja over the R3 if I were in the market for a new bike

The KTM is sweet but I don't see it as a good bike for daily riding when compared with the N300/R3

I just wish the N300 had just a little bit better build quality and it'd be perfect. As it is it's a damn good bike. So really I just want an updated kawi

The dash on that R3 is nice though

And now also as 250 cc Duke and RC

http://www.ktm.com/de/supersport/rc-250/highlights.html

By the way the most fascinating thing for me is, that the race version of this bike is down by 60 kg (from 147 dry to 87 kg) and the power gain is 20 hp (from 31 hp to 51 hp @ 14000 rpm)...

I'd read that at different places and it must not be exactly for the new 2015 250 RC but at least it's their 250 cc engine, look here e.g. for a report from December 2014 http://www.cycleworld.com/2014/12/02...photo-gallery/

This is a german report about the 2014 KTM RC 250 GP http://www.motorradonline.de/einzelt...250-rbr/515714
There it says (used translator): "Around 40,000 euros will the Production Racer 250 RBR cost, which may be associated with investments in special parts on the motor side on the technical status of the factory racer. In the original state the production engine is 38 kW afford (51 hp) at 14,000 rpm and will reach the same top speed as the RC 250 GP, but should mobilize still around 5 hp more." - so the RBR is even 56 hp! from 250cc

LOL, I am pretty sure those specs are for the customer Moto3 KTM. They make a "lesser" spec Moto3 bike for purchase for national championships and such. The Red Bull Rookies (RBR) use this bike. They consider that bike a "production bike" like the RCV1000R last year was a "Production Honda".

^ this makes a little more sense along with the 40k euro price tag
