Weather permitting I'll be at the RA motorplex on this coming Sunday. Rare weekend track day there. If you guys make it say hi to the old man on the little red Z125.

I was at RA motorplex checking out the supermoto races they put on during ARHMA/Rockerbox weekend. Quite a crowd there racing.
Yes he was there, I was not.

He hasn't mentioned RA this weekend. Luckily he can skip out during the week at times and do a RA track day.

I'm sure you will cross paths with him eventually. His name is Kevin and you know his CRF and gear.

I'll tell him to look out for a fast guy on a Z125 passing on the outside!

Haha I'm not that fast anymore, Haven't been on a race bike since 2016. But if I see a crf150R with skid marks from a 450, I'll say hi.

Running a track day at RA today (Wednesday) - must be nice!

My boss would never let me take a day off in the middle of the week to play at the track - and I'm self employed!

Anyone have an idea of a good lap time at the RA Supermoto track?

My son said he was running 0:59 laps on a clear track yesterday, and was passing 450s. He was pumped.

Only thing on the track faster was a 125cc 2-stroke shifter kart, and it wasn't much.

Time to enter some races and get some real perspective.

The 150 is starting to chew-up its bottom end bearings, so a new crank is on the list before next season. Surprisingly it's still running strong, but its days are numbered.

Current state of the CRF's engine -

Ready to install a new crank and high compression piston. Cam and bore look great. Crank replacement is more preventative maintenance considering how the engine was/wasn't taken care of before we got it. If you wait too long you'll end up with a hole in the cases.

I'm impressed with these little engines. It spends most of it's time at the track near the rev limiter, and after a season of trackdays shows almost no wear on the internals. Probably could have gone another season without much of anything.

My son is designing a velocity stack for the carb to have 3D printed. The airbox looks like a big compromise, as it has a stiff rubber boot that jogs awkwardly around the shock spring and makes jetting changes difficult.

So far so good...

Finished assembling the bottom-end this weekend -

Just need the high compression piston assy and we should be able to button it up.
