Gear storage?
My wife is starting to grumble that my gear is taking up too much space in the coat closet; I suppose she's probably right. Problem is that this house doesn't have a lot in the way of closet space, so if I were to try and move it out somewhere else .. well .. there really isn't an alternative.
I've been thinking about how to make use of the space in the garage. I suppose it would be trivial to set up a rudimentary rack with a few hooks to hang items from, but that doesn't really seem like a very elegant solution to me. I'm wondering if there isn't some kind of .. portable closet type thing that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, something that can accommodate a few jackets and pants and boots and the like. Anyone know of something like this? Apologizes if this has been answered before but I couldn't seem to find anything when I searched. |

Check Home Depot or Lowe's for a storage cabinet/locker type thingy.

A friend of mine just puts everything in a chest in his garage. Not sure about your garage set up, but having your gear outside where it may get super hot/humid or cold doesn't sound too appealing. My friend has a temp controlled garage

Yeah, you should probably just build your own wooden hangers and for everything and space them accordingly, It will work right, be space efficient and will only cost you about $20 for lumber. You'll need a saw, hammer and nails though. (screws and screw gun would be better)

Check CL for a shed. Tell the wife she can still come in to use the bathroom and feminist chores, like cooking and cleaning. You wouldn't want to deprive her of that and get her pissed.
