Gloves + Touchscreen
Not being able to navigate my iPhone while wearing gloves was always annoying, but never really a dire problem. But then I was cruising along with my GPS on, and I received a text message and couldn't press "close" on the screen. So the GPS was no longer the dominant app, and it caused my phone to turn the screen off. Long story short, if you want to be able to use your gloves on touchscreens, there's a rather simple way to do it. Get conductive thread, and sew some on to the fingertip of the glove. Here's a video I just made to show the magic:

I posted a thread a while back about this. Too sleepy to look it up now.
Alternatives: - "Thumb Dogs" are a product made for precisely this purpose. - You can find stretchy knit gloves that are touchscreen-friendly. Get a cheap pair and cut one of the fingers off (basically a cheaper Thumb Dog) - Try a different finger, or even a different part of your finger. Whether or not the screen can sense your touch has to do with the material, and gloves are often made of multiple materials. On one of my pairs of gloves, my thumb can activate the screen but my finger can't.

Um... you cut the tips off the knit gloves and put them over your riding gloves.

I've had no problems using my GPS or phone with my Rev It or Dainese leather gloves...
