Is there something specific you are not understanding about it? It will help people be able to answer your questions if they know where the problem lies.

That actually usually works for me. I also use photobucket which has the codes ready-made for you.

Do you have to get the pictures on photobucket and make an account first?
Can you use the link from your documents folder?

If your pasting the url for an image in the IMG brackets (ie [IMG] [/IMG]),right click the image and select "copy image Location"; then simply past them in between the two sets of brackets. You can also click the small "insert image" button on the top of the message window (the button with the mountains on it) and just paste the code in there, it will make the IMG brackets for you; hope that helps.

edit, example:

If you click the quote button on this post, you can see exactly what the url is, and how to place it in the brackets, that may make it easier to understand.

You do need a photobucket account which is free and have to upload it there. You can also upload your pics to this forum as well.

Unfortunately you can't use the link from any local folders since only you have access to your computer. Pictures have to be uploaded to the internet first before others can view them.

To upload to this site, click the User CP towards the top of this page. On the left hand side should be a Pictures and Albums link that you click. Add an album and then you should have a link that says upload pictures. Upload yours pics and each pic will now have a web address for you to use with your IMG tags.

There are plenty of sites you can use that don't require an account like imgur. You've never been able to link from your documents folder

Link to sticky thread at top of pictures section

That thread shows a few ways to post pictures onto this site. Don't use photobucket, the pics time out after a few months (unless it's a paid account), and threads you've posted in then show the dreaded red X. Use flickr, picasa, smugmug, or just about any other site other than pb. The most reliable method to keep pics here forever is to point it to your own ninjette.org albums.
