Valve Adjustment-Really Tight adjustment screw?

I'm in the middle of tackling my first valve adjustment and I was able to do both intake valves without a problem and the left exhaust valve without a problem, but this pesky right exhaust valve is giving me problems. First of all it's a pain in the ass to get to, but I got the nut loose. I am using a small flathead screwdriver, like a jewelers type that worked fine on all the other adjustment screws, but on this one it won't budge. I've even tried putting a set of small vice grips for leverage and the sucker will not move. This seems really strange, so I figured I'd take a break and see if I could get some answers. Anybody have any ideas?

I'm still working on it. Having read through the guides again, I see that I missed 4 of the adjustments... DUh. and I was using the wrong gauges inch vs. metric so I have to go back and do it over again. I still am having problems with the farthest right exhaust adjuster screw, I now see that it's adjusted too loose but I can't get it to budge...grr. I don't know how something like that gets seized up in an oil bath. ???

disregard. I figured out that I had it backed out too far, I just had to back it in with some leverage. It's all adjusted, runs fine, and is all put back together. sheesh. For the first time, I'm happy about it. I like being out in the garage anyway.

Wait, so some bikes have screws instead of shims? I'm no mechanic.
