Clip-On Clearance Fixes?
I have a 2010 Ninja 250r that I'm prepping for the track. I've purchased and installed some clip-on's which have significantly lowered the handle bar position. My issue here is that the bar clearance is now also significantly less, probably about 1/2-1/3 of what it used to be. I understand I don't need the full turn radius that the bike has stock but I'd like a bit more than what it has now. Are there any resolutions that you guys may have to this situation? Maybe an aftermarket fairing stay possibly? I don't mind removing the meter cover as long as I can keep the bike decent looking as I'm keeping the bike legal to ride on the street.

on the 300 i lowered the instrument cluster, and used a dremmel on the fairings. the instrument panel lays flat and low.

What are the clip-ons hitting that's reducing your clearance?
Tank? Dash? Forward part of fairing? Bottom part of fairing? To clear fairing with lowered bars, I've done this mod where you chop off part of fairing that normally attaches to tank. For even more clearance, you can remove even more of fairing. Someone posted an easy method couple months ago to reduce steering-angle limits to prevent squashed thumbs. |

The dash is the issue. I have full clearance as far as the tank and fairings. My clutch lever hits the left side of the dash and slightly engages it. My brake line hits the right side. I saw some other posts on here stating to rotate the brake line which I will be doing. That will help but it will bring it to the having the same issue as the clutch side. I have a buddy who installed the same set of clip-ons and he has a little bit more clearance, but still not as much as I'd prefer. the only difference is that he has an aftermarket digital dash as opposed to the stock dash that I have on mine. I have no issues with the stock dash so I'd prefer to keep it if I can.

I've got similar arrangement with Trailtech Vapour dash. Bolted an aluminium plate to factory fairing bracket.
