With Luis Salom and Maverick Viñales off to Moto2 for 2014 - along, possibly, with Alex Rins - the next big move in the Moto3 championship has been announced. Today, the Red Bull KTM Ajo team announced that they had signed Jack Miller to race for the Finnish team in Moto3 in 2014. Miller will take the place of the departing Luis Salom, and race the factory-backed KTM.

Miller's signing with Ajo had been long expected. The Australian has been exceptionally good on the FTR Honda, and has constantly been one of only a very few riders capable of taking the fight to the KTMs. The Australian should also be a good fit in the Ajo team, which has a reputation for developing young talent and helping them win championships.

Miller will join Zulfahmi Khairuddin at the Ajo team, though his fellow Australian Arthur Sissis' position is less certain. Ajo is known to be talking to Karel Hanika, current leader in the Red Bull Rookies Cup, but Hanika declined to comment on his future at Misano. By Aragon, his future should be clear, he said. If Hanika arrives, then Sissis will have to make way for the young Czech rider.
