"Preacher" from Missouri

Greetings fellow Ninja owners. I'm "Preacher" from a little boot heel town in Missouri called Cape Girardeau. I just bought my first 'street bike' of whatever and I'm having a blast learning about it. I was always a Harley rider but I sold it and ended up buying a 96 Ninja 250R. It was a great deal at $325, but it was wrecked so there's lots of work to do.

Needless to say, I'll probably be seeking lots of advice because since the bike is now in pieces, I want to rebuild it with mods. Not factory anymore.

I have new fairings and other body parts on the way. Ready to have some fun with this project.

May I ask why "Preacher" is in quotes?

I rode with a club in Kansas City. I was very opinionated and occasionally quoted bible verses. So they called me 'Preacher'.

I'm not actually very religious. It's just what they called me and it stuck. lol

I'm always curious where some people road names come from too. Some are obvious but some leave you wondering.

Is there such thing as a websitenwhereni can get high-performance parts for this thing? A 96 250r seems hard to buy mods for. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place.

That's a broad topic, have you tried the search function? Some parts from other years will fit yours. There aren't really piles of performance parts for the lil bikes

On the bright side, one reason there aren't many performance parts is that the engine is amazingly high performance from the factory. See if you can find other 250s that put out crankshaft HP numbers in the 30s. When I investigated the Suzuki TU250 as a motorcycle my daughter could ride, I abandoned that idea when I saw the rating of 16 hp. There's an engine that could use some performance modifications.
