Wow! That's an amazing deal! Very similar to Yoshimura's RS-5 exhaust for fraction of price. I don't think you can go wrong. Seems like performance exhausts are commodity items nowadays.

I went with Tyga system due to them getting the highest gains on dyno. Looking at charts more closely, most of the gains were actually from leaning out the factory's too-rich WOT top-end. Remember that '60's hot-rod saying?

So you're looking at a +10% bump in power for less than $200 in exhaust, muffler and 2 main-jets! Great hunting and good job!

I have the same setup from a different website and I love it. The slip on fits right onto the stainless headers and sounds really good. I believe the outer diameter of the headers is 54mm and the inner something like 51 or 52mm. Definitely a good idea for an inexpensive full system!

I don't right now. I can take some when I get home from work if you want? I've put about 6k miles on the setup and it's seen all kinds of weather, it holds up really well.

Pardon the dirt and grime. She is my workhorse and I do about 50mi/day and that is just to and from work.

Only complaint I have is in the second picture you can see the slip on doesn't come all the way down the headers to meet the ring on it. It never really bothered me but there is a super small leak because it won't fit snug all the way. I don't have a sound clip, sorry. It's more of an in person thing anyway. I've never seen a video that made an aftermarket ninja exhaust sound good. Lol but that's just my opinion.

The outside ring actually doesn't do any sealing. The seal is made at the tip of the inside-tube against the flared/conical edge of the outer-tube. This is where production tolerances come into play. Make sure tip of inside-tube is perfectly-round and is cut perfectly square 90-degrees to the tubing axis. Verify outer-tube's flare is perfectly concentric as well. Spring then serves to push inside tube's tip into the flare for sealing.

^^thank you for sharing. I'll have to pull it apart and inspect when I get a chance. I don't expect much from the muffler, you get what you pay for. Sounds nice and I notice slight gains in high rpm with a jet change and tune.

It also looks like spring isn't pulling exhaust together very tightly, which might be cause of your leak. Each spring should require substantial force to stretch and install. Typically you'll increase length of spring 50-100% longer from resting to installed state. I'd say about 30-40lbs of pull each. You really need an exhaust spring hook tool to stretch and install those springs. Might want to measure distance between loops and replace with spring having 1/2-3/4 that length when contracted. Perhaps something like this ebay - exhaust spring.

I have an extra set of springs in my toolbox. I'll throw them on along with the inspection. I've never had a problem with just using plyers.

Inspected the muffler and end of the headers. Couldnt find anything out of the ordinary, so I put the new springs on and the leaked diminished slightly. Its not of major concern to me really, but the observation and suggested by JacRyann definitely helped.

Thanks again. Ride safe, all

Interesting el cheapo header. Check out the header from Tyga as well. it's not the prettiest tubing job, but the welds seem decent and the dyno charts look good. Price is right as well.

I got one and it seems to fit okay. Haven't run the bike with it yet though.

Nice thing about the Tyga header is it has bung for wideband-O2 sensor. Now I just need to convert to EFI for fine-tuning mixtures.

Any updates on this header, hows it running? How are the welds holding?
I'm pretty keen to upgrade from the stock headers, i like the larger bore, the lack of cat., the flexibility provided with spring clamps and most importantly; the price!
$$=freed up HP seems good.
(get 'er breathing better, get 'er performing better!) + (jets/AFR)

Any Real world dyno's done?
hows it holding up users?

These knock offs are ok. Not something I would buy personally. I would just as well keep the stock. Even $150 is a lot of cash might as well hit a HR and go for the real deal because over time you'll know why a true Yoshi, Muzzy, Two Bros. etc is worth the extra coin. JMO though I still find these generic systems interesting just still haven't seen one that holds up well after a few years. Not in comparison to the top aftermarket exhausts.

You'd be surprized to know where Yoshi, Muzzy, Two Bros. are having their exhausts made... I have a set of genuine Sato rear-sets without the Sato name... made by same factory... before name is added...

That extra $150 doesn't come in during manufacturing process; that's exactly the same, so exact same quality. Inspect tubing, surface finish, welds, etc. You won't be able to tell the difference. That sticker & logo is where the $150 is added.

Take a picture of wideband-O2 port when installed will ya? My Tyga's positioning of it is vertically right beneath corner of engine. My O2-sensor will end up hitting oil-pan when I install. Going to have to cut off bung, weld-up hole and re-position/rotate bung towards outside a little.

Might be easier and faster to just pick up one of these exhausts.

Ive got the Tyga on a 250R with wideband O2 installed. You will not have a clearance issue, it will work just fine.

i just finished the install. not bad, midpipe tricky, springs do not align but useable. the multi adapter for slip on not needed. used a touch of anti seize on lower header/midpipe connections. i have countersunk m18x1.5 plug coming for the 02 plug. slingshot muffler bracket just fit(it was close)

Thanks for the pics.
Looks like a good little unit, all things considered.
Some of the welds look like they've been done by a talented blind man, but i've seen much worse. Lets hope they hold, but if not its quick and cheap to fix.

How does it go on the road?

it sounds great. i have not put any hard miles on it yet as i’m right in the middle of pod install/carb tuning/ valve check. i’ll keep ya posted. the ali slip on sounds quite louder even with baffle installed. must be flowing pretty good. cheap is cheap. nothing can beat this price.

heh, heh... looks like combination of manual and robot-welding. Human labour is cheaper than complex machinery. They take pride in that when done in U.S., but results in inconsistent QC and leaky bikes...
