Bike won't stay running...HELP!!
I have a 2007 ninja 250 and won't idle. It takes it a minute to start up but it hardly idles, it dies out within 10 seconds of starting. It was idling alright a week ago but when I gave it gas it would cut out immediately. Now it won't idle and it still won't rev. My husband and my friend who works on bikes took the carb apart about 4 times now and cleaned it, jets and all, it has new sparkplugs (gapped correctly), adjusted needles both at the same time from top to bottom 1/4 turn each time, and has clean fuel. Please help with our engine mystery, Im DYING to ride!!

Haven't tried seafoam yet, but there isn't any bad gas in the engine, no vaccum leaks, and there isn't anything blocking the intake/air filter.

When my '07 ninja was having trouble idling I pulled my carbs and went to clean them but they were spotless. I was planning to do a valve adjustment before the carb cleaning but I thought the carb cleaning would fix the problem so I did it first. After that I did the valve adjustment. My valves were super tight on my cams. Once I loosened them back to spec everything ran fine.
Good Luck |

Do you remember what the specks were? I don't have a manual.
