Extended 300 swing arms and such

So I have heard of folks with other swing arms on the 300? But can't figure it out myself... Have you done it? What did you do? I want a lil extra length... Yea I'm in Florida and its just for looks... If I had a shop it would be easier to figure out myself, but every shop I ask says impossible or ya don't want to do that... Uh yea I wanna do it that's why I asked you to.

Know what would look sweet? The single-sided swing arm from Sportisi. It's meant for the 250, but those bikes are so similar it wouldn't surprise me one bit if the swing arms were interchangeable.

Cooler than an extended swing arm in my opinion.

How much length do you want and how much are you willing to spend?

Thumbs up

Chone... Yea the single side is sweet, maybe after powder coating my rims!!!

I ride around a town not a track:/, cornering ability doesn't do much for me. Glad you approve though

Six inches... 1500 sounds reasonable

i seen a couple of 250s do it, so it not impossible.
they just need to build a jig, cut and reweld with spacer.

find a place that builds roll cages, they can build it for cheap.

I bet that really helps with keeping the front wheel down under massive 250 acceleration.

Right.

That's the point of an extended swingarm - and the only reason to install one. It's going to kill the balance of the cycle in corners.

It's a waste of time/money for anything that doesn't have the power and traction to lift the front wheel excessively in a proper drag launch.

More poseur-fab on a streetbike than anything else.

Preaching to the choir, Jay. I was being facetious in that post.

Fwiw, a certain racer on this forum gets som ribbing because he managed to loop his bike during a good hard race start. It is possible for this bike to loft the front, just not easily.

OK I REALLY NEED AN EXTENDED SWING ARM. if anyone sees one for sale cheap. Let me know. I need to move my rear wheel back four to six inches to fill the fairing. By the rules the fairing must be no more than three inches behind the tire.

I guess I was wrong then - there is another (good) reason to get one!

It may even give you some additional high speed stability.

Ya and the longer arm will give more room for air to exit the radiator, since it is under the seat.

Eric isn't it possible in the US that you, as a sports-rider in competitions, ask them for a discount and therefore get their stickers on your bike? I know in Germany sometimes you get 20 up to 40 percent in cases like this.
I wish you good success in building up your engine and look for new records then.

Thank you. I ordered the extentions. I would rather just pay for the parts and not have to feel an obligation .
Now I can mount my wheel make the fairing and seat ,then finalize the seating position and make shifter linkage and throttle cables and the break line.

You asked...

Seriously, it's a really bad idea for a street bike.

You're welcome.
