Helmet line adhesive wearing off, halp!
So as the title says, the hard rubber bottom/side liner on BOTH of my Icon Airmada helmets have appeared to come unglued (literally) on the exact same day it appears. Theyre both well out of warranty so no luck there, however i contacted Icon anyway just to see what they'd say or if they had a possible solution. the guy i spoke with stated he would have got me replacements for both helmets if they had them in stock, however he stated theyre out of stock at all of their locations, so i was out of luck.
When he replied regarding the glue/adhesive, he simply stated its "over the shelf" super adhesive, but of course did not give me the exact name of the stuff they use. So my question is, do you guys have any idea what adhesive they use to keep the hard rubber liner on? Or would you by chance know a very good alternative that would withstand all weather conditions? The helmets themselves are still in flawless shape. No dings/scratches, liner is still even clean after all this time. I just have no idea what kind of adhesive id need in order to fix this irritating problem and would love any answers you guys might have. Thanks, can post pics if you guys like. |

Cyanoacrylate is good stuff if it won't get too much torque. Waterproof and strong.

Gorilla snot, AKA weather strip adhesive. Strong, flexible and makes a nice tight bond.

Whatever you do, keep any adhesive away from the foam liner. The solvent in the adhesive will damage the foam and reduce the crashworthiness of your helmet.
