The "New Posts" feature is enabled on most vB boards. What's more custom here is the mod that shows the number of new posts to each user on the main forum screen, and if you hit the "View New Posts" pull-down menu, there are a number of options for timing to view posts that aren't typically available elsewhere.

But - like most folks in this thread, first thing I do when I get here is hit that "unread posts" link and try and work my way through them. When it gets > 1000, I know I'm in trouble . Lately we've had some days with >600 posts per day, so the volume is such that we're all going to have to rely on Kelly to read all of 'em and let us know about the good ones.

One of the forums I frequent is gardenweb.com, and trust me, its forums (though hugely active) are dinosaurs. Hanging out there REALLY makes me appreciate the features here on Ninjette.org!
In regard to that last comment, LOL! Good luck with that job assignment, Kelly!

CNTRL + Click or Center-Click works too.

Yup, I started using ctrl-click and it's much easier.
