nice to feel so welcomed!

i dont know who runs the site but im having trouble getting on, and i cant get my login and password resent. it always tells me that i didn't enter the right key word. But it does let me link in from my email. If i'm doin something wrong i'm not sure what it is. AAAnyway, yes i bought a 07 ninja 250 with 452 miles on it and the blue collar bobber kit as a winter project. the kit was nice to make it easy to cut off the rear end and already have a seat and rear end piece already fabbed. then i hacked apart the rest and changed everything, did some work on the rear shock mounts to fit a 93zx600 shock so i have all the adjustments, woodcraft 3in riser clip on's so that i could put preload adjusters on the forks and much heavier race tech springs (feels much better) and put in all new seals, bigger pirelli 120/80/16 demon sport front tire, two brothers racing slip ons, wrapped the front pipe, k&n air filter, oil filter and drain plug magnets, nice new aluminum cheap levers and a clutch perch from a 09, led lights for the dislpays, sorry to ramble on, that's all i can remember off hand. I know that everybody seems to agree there's no real good way to increase the power but any tips or tricks would be nice. im gonna try to get sopme pics up on the site soon. Oh i also just sent out some templates to my buddy to have him machine me some rear set plates. Has anybody made these before? Thanks guys!!!

I like it so far. I take it you used the Blue Collar Bobbers kit? I looked at it but could not justify the price.

The guy at blue collar gave me a deal,he gave me a discount code for 10%. Then took another chunk off because I didn't want to use his tire. But yes it still wasn't the cheapest way to go. But I knew that I'd have everything. I also know that I paid way too much for the woodcraft clip ons, but I plan on having it for a long time so wanted to do it right. I really like the renthal bars the guy used on the bike he built for his daughter. I'd have done that if I knew I could.

seem to be able to login just fine i'm sure i was doin something wrong. I got a few friends helping me do this thing up nice! So today we got to test fit a pair of setback plates that were hot off the press. Well actually the 3d printer. If there is any interest in these well make them available, most likely in 1/2 in aluminum plates. It was nice to have the kit to help wire up the lights. I can do the wiring but it would have taken a lot longer on my own! here's some pics!!

I want this kit so badly now I saw some of the finished products and wow, bee ou teee full!! But the price of the kit + the trumpet exhaust is what I paid for my entire bike. Not to mention it's unpainted and looks like a project and a half to install.
Big props to you tho! I might just have to cough up the greens one day and attempt this myself.

I wonder how badly the ergonomics of the bike take a hit with the racer kit? No windshield, fairings are missing, etc.. I already get serious wind pressure to deal with in NY on the highways. (even when I duck down)
Can anyone that currently has the kit comment on that please?

oh i have way too much into this, but i didn' it build it to sell. i paid 1700 for the bike cause it only had 452 miles on it. And then another 2 grand plus on stuff. i could have bought a nicer, faster bike for that but i wanted it as a project to keep busy this winter. putting the kit together was super easy anybody could do it in a weeks worth of evenings. I did spend some time modifying the headlight and gauge mount.i lowered the light then the gauge cluster down right against it. i didn't like the way it looked all high and sticking up. as far as how it rides with out the fairings it didn't bother me at all but i just took it around town a bit. give them a call they might give you a deal!!! they hooked me up

Dude..you took the fork off and redid the wiring.. I'd like to meet this anybody, does he charge a lot?
Great product tho, wish I had the know-how and space. What color are you gonna paint it? And what does a good paint job run for that kit?

edit: Actually, I just checked out their videos. Doesn't seem to bad. You probably just went the extra mile.

ok maybe i should have phrased it differently. in a well stocked fully tooled garage, with a well experienced helper/ employee i would say it could be easily done in a week. without waiting for some parts and changing my mind on a few things i'm confident in saying that we could have. The forks weren't that bad we drained them , put in new springs and seals , then the preload adjusters pop right in and screw down. my buddy pounded in the seals, that was the only thing that took any real doing. nothing was really wrong with the stock ones but why not upgrade if you already tearing it apart. Wiring was only for the lights, very easy to follow the video, just tedious. I only messed up once, got overconfident and assumed i knew the next step. I can admit it! but they do give you some extras of almost everything as far as connectors and small hardware. you should go on you tube and run trough some of the how toos for the kit. my friend who was helping me is in the process of setting up his own paint business so that's gonna help. i even let him pick out the colors since hes gonna be using it as portfolio project. the main color will be a dark green translucent, with a slight metal flake. Then the dual stripe will be a similar dark grey. He just got done painting his first bike frame today so we should get it going this next week. honestly i'm kinda bummed its almost done i liked staying here at night with a project.

oh and modifying the frame to fit a much bigger adjustable shock could be intimidating to someone who's just not used to doing any kind of fabricating. i have a welder on staff with his own fully functioning machine shop. he build's high end custom bike frames. He's awesome to have around, its nice to know he can save your butt if i were to cut too much off some thing, or just shouldn't have fooled with it in the first place.

paint pricing

so i asked my buddy, for a simple one color pricing would start at $250.00 for labor plus materials, that's if there is no big dents and minimal blocking and prep.

Sounds like a great deal. Does that include a primer and a clear coat?
And while you're at it, ask him how much adding two stripes down the middle would run.

he said that's the labor with no materials 250.00. everything else would be what you would want to buy and send or have him order. and that's him just doin it cheap to get so momentum going. He had been doing it before he moved here. ill ask him tomorrow if he's ok with me giving out his info. and ill ask him to post his own response as far as anything other pricing. Just got back from the store with my make shift linkage extention parts.

not sure how to take that, not sure what is meant, is that a dig at me or at my project? i have never been on any forum were I've posted anything, so i took pictures and gave it a shot. full knowing that some might think it was a bitch way to go with buying a kit. but i was just trying to share and get feedback. i had found this site helpful while deciding on what parts to order. just had my buddy take stuff to paint yesterday!! ill be posting end results soon... i hope. thanks for the help
