Firefox Display
Alex: When I'm using the "mark forums read" link, my page with Firefox doesn't display properly... Just a heads up.

I get that from time to time. Haven't gotten that in quite some time though. Have you updated your FF and all it's add-ons lately?

It's a template issue. When someone puts "--" in a thread title and that thread is the most recent one in a forum, it messes up the main forums page. In that screenshot, it's Kungfu Panda's thread title with -- in it.
I've tried to find out where the issue is, and have been unsuccessful every time I've looked into it. When people bring it up, I edit that thread title to a single -, and all is well. It only happens in Firefox. It's a little weird.

OK - I think I may have fixed it. I changed that thread title back to having a "--" in it, and I don't see any weirdness in Firefox anymore. Let me know if seems to pop up again.

Hold shift down and press the refresh button in the firefox menu bar to make sure you're getting it from the network and not a local cache.

It's a little strange that we're seeing different things now, as I'm no longer seeing it. Firefox 7.0.1. Here's a screenshot: (with an arrow added to the refresh button)
ninjette screenshot.jpg If the shift-refresh didn't work, the next step is to clear your local cache.

Choose the tools menu, choose "clear recent history". When the dialog box pops up, choose "Everything", but deselect all the checkboxes except "cache".

Here's my most recent one. The refresh is in a different spot but I'm sure they are the same.
How do I clear the cache?

You're welcome! Not sure why the older versions of FF still show that glitch, but the new ones don't seem to. I don't know what it is about the page with --'s in it that causes the problem.

He had checked it, but Firefox was giving him a false OK when he hit the check for update link. (It was telling him that Firefox was up to date). He was on 3.6.23, and it evidently got stuck there. Downloading the 7.0.1 installer directly fixed him all up.

Well ...... When I use the pull down "Mark Forums Read", I receive the message,
"Your submission could not be processed because a security token was invalid. If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error." And I have been receiving that message for 8 months. I just abandoned using the "View New Posts/Mark Forums Read" and use the quick green box in the upper right hand corner "Mark all posts as read". |

How about this one Alex. This is what I get when I un-subscribe from a thread by choosing the un-subscribe link in email.

Jason - I can't replicate it.
I'd try logging out of ninjette, then clearing the browser cache, then closing the browser. Then reopening the browser, and logging in to ninjette. At that point your cookie credentials are solid, and there are no remnants of incorrect cache files that may be lying around, that could potentially (if unlikely) be causing this.

Ok a tried that but it's still there. Only does it from email link. If I use the pull down from "Thread Tools" above and select unsubscribe there then there is no issue.
No biggie. The email link DOES in fact unsubscribe me from the thread apparently, I just get the weird message.

Do you use yahoo mail? Are you clicking on the link from within the yahoo webmail app, or a local mail client?

Yep, Yahoo mail. For giggles I used the same unsubscribe link on my iPhone and the ninjette message is right. It's only happening on my PC while logged into my web-mail with Firefox.

OK, that helps. Yahoo is capturing and redirecting links within your email when you click on it. (to track where people go from their email). It should be seamless, but in this case however they are handling that redirect isn't working correctly. I'd send a note to yahoo support with all of the information you can provide (the actual link that is in the email, and the error message you are getting when being sent through their redirection). I don't think there's much I can do about it on the ninjette side.
