Whats that white stuff?

It's sunny, mid 70s, and a perfectly clear sky here

...and theres actually idiots out there complaining that the superbowl shouldn't be here because we don't have a roof on our stadium. Who the hell needs one?

We got up to 38F today--the first thaw in two weeks. I did get out for a bicycle ride and that felt real good. Got lots of projects done on the Ninja. I drained the gas tank yesterday and ran the carbs dry. Put the gas in the cage, and then got fresh gas for the bike and treated it with Marine Stabil. That should last till I start riding again. It is a good idea to change the gas every three months. That "weasel piss" they put in the gas these days can really create some issues.

Hate to say it but Southern California needs more water. We have (had) a drought and still have a water problem even without it.
We had no water before all these rains came. All my favorite fishing lakes were either closed or drawn down. The rains are like a godsend. It hasn't rained this much here in 5-10 years at least.
I'm happy to see the rain even though I won't ride in it.

All the hills around my normally desert location are green with growth! It's beautiful!

I do however notice winter brings out the haters. Specially on the fishing forums because all the fish are deep and making anglers angry. lol

Years ago, I was more that willing to ride in an inch or so of snow if it was fresh. I don't think I am as brave/stupid as then, but it could help if I get stuck in a tight spot.

the problem is once you get going it is hard to slow down and change direction . So you have to slow way down to turn. Once you fall over from going to slow . It is hard to pick up most bikes when it is slippery outside.
The 250 ninja is great because it is light and low enough to slide your weight back .

I would like to ride a tw200 from Yamaha in the snow see how it would go

Here in Alexandria, louisiana we are expected to get 2 to 6 inches of snow. The news is telling everyone to stay home and off the roads. That is some good advice because people here do not know how to drive in the snow and tend to panic, causing accidents.

Hey matt. This is John. I rode with you once back then when I was in dallas. I'm in Houston now and no snow...just rained yesterday about 45f lowest. It's amazing a 4 hrs drive south can do.
I do miss Dallas job market though. Jobs on Houston sucks.

Some of the "experts" are claiming that this strange weather is further proof of "global warming". I don't think anyone realy knows.

Oh my. It actually snowed in south Alabama. The rain killed it within an hour, so it wasn't a big deal, but it was surprising.

We're having a pretty mild winter here in Atlantic Canada compared to the last 2. And we had real nasty winters here usually.

Dallas is interesting enough to drive through in the wet, throw in some snow or ice and it's hilarious, as long as you don't have to be anywhere near the idiots. That's the reason I moved to central Texas, no snow. There was a chance of snow a few years ago, so of course I rode to work. I was the only one on the rode, it was so strange. I guess it's a good thing, shutting down a city where no one knows how to deal with it, even if it's just a chance...

We're having the mildest winter here in Labrador for decades. We're breaking records for warm days and rainfall. Got 55 cm of snow this week. Looked like good skiing at last. Most of it is gone now in rain and thawing temperature. I may have to go south for a good ski.
