Oil level question

I changed the oil and filter. I made sure there was an appropriate amount of oil. I started the bike to check the idle, everything was fine. Now after not starting the bike for 2 months the oil level in the sight glass is reading low. Is this normal for bikes that sit? Or does placing a new oil filter affect the oil level by almost half the site glass?

I fill mine to the too of the glass. I idle it and then shut it down. Usually it is below the glass after that. Then I fill it to halfway between the lines on the glass. Sitting shouldn't make you lose oil.

When doing an oil change you put in your oil run the bike a few minutes check the level again you usually end up adding more. If you didn't do this last step probably explains why it seems low.
