Was that a bog?

I have a question and I’m sure it’s been asked before but in my searches I’ve seen multiple and sometimes, conflicting answers. If it’s been answered correctly and I just missed it, please post the link and I’ll read up rather than repeating the conversation.

While riding Sunday, I was at full throttle in 4th gear and the bike lost power for a half a second. It felt like a carb bogging down for a split second when its cold and you have to ease off the throttle to ‘get it back’ - except the engine was very warm. I was an hour into the ride, accelerating hard out of a long sweeper. I tried full throttle again on the next straight away and it did it again. The bike is completely stock and was just serviced a couple of weeks ago. It runs excellent in every other way and I haven’t been able to duplicate the problem again.

I probably won't attempt to fix it myself but I'd like to know what happened and how to intelligently pass along the correct information to the dealership service department.

Thanks for any guidance/advice provided.

Take the air box cover off (right leg side) and see if the air filter is installed backwards. The dirty side is supposed to face the rear of the bike. Also make sure it was properly cleaned and oiled. If this was screwed up, I wouldn't take the bike back to that shop again.
