Yeah I don't know if it was from riding home with my shield open the other night or from dremeling shavings into my eye or rubbing shavings into my eye.

Either way I'll never do anything without glasses again
this is kinda bogus. I'll call around for doctors tomorrow.
I don't have any insurance right now either.

I'm supposed to be out looking for a new bike but I'm trying to get this thing out my eye instead.

All the doctors keep saying "it's a rust ring it's a rust ring!" but when I look in the mirror all I see is a tiny black dot in my eye. None of those pansies will reach in and grab it but they'll stick me with all kinds of other stuff right in my eyeball.

It would appear they want to stick this into my eyeball to remove the rust ring.
Nobody said anything about pulling the actual object out and who knows if it's even metal yet!

Ugh this is gonna suck. I should just grab the tweezer and yank the beetch myself like on Dead or Alive.

Proceed with extreme care man. The eye is a surprisingly fragile piece of biological hardware.

As we say at my fencing team:
It's all fun & games til someone loses an eye...

Then it's fun and games without depth perception!

Well since we seem to be smarter than the doctors at the ER..
Here's for prognosis.
You can clearly see one good eye and one bad. They said I currently posses 20/25 vision. Honestly I think I could have gone better had I not covered my eye so heavily and messed up my vision.

The red arrow points to the obstruction which is barely highlighted by the picture.

Funk that thing. lol

Every 10-15-20 mins or so it starts to burn and my eye start watering and both eyes close up unwillingly for another five to 10 minutes.

I'm as good as blind from that stooopid little insignificant dot!

There's no major scratches or secretions they said. Just this little tiny black dot in my eye. They shot water at it and no go. It's got a foothold and makes me blind every few minutes. There's no way possible I'd be able to drive anything like this.

I've been dizzy enough the last 24 hours to almost toss my cookies a few times but not yet.
With your eyes closed all the time you have no perception of the horizon. On the ride to the hospital this almost made me lose my lunch lol. I've never been motion sick before until today.
I'm amazed at what a tiny black dot can do to me!

In the waiting room everyone thought I was crying because I was holding a rag to my eyes the whole time but it was really just to block out the light because it hurts!

always an optimist in the group.
My eye could be in that same condition and I wouldnt be getting help.
I can barely open either eye right now.
Feels just like that picture...
The doctor stuck something relative to that in my eye yesterday.

Here's one the fishing forums I visit like.. hooks in eyes.

Lol the pic I posted was actually of my eye doing a little magic/sideshow trick I learned. You take a one inch nail put it in one eye and "move" it over to the other eye where it comes out. I snapped a pic when the nail was partially in. I remember when I first took it I texted it to a few people I know and said "do you think I should go to the hospital for this?". Sometimes it's fun to creep people out hehe

Hope your eye totally heals - I got hit in my eyeball about 2 weeks ago and I have noticed that my lower eyelid twitches at least 30 times a day.

Every time I read one of these eyeball posts I start to cringe and my eyes start watering. It's kind of like the feeling I get when my wife mentions vasectomy... minus the eye watering part

OK we have a bit of work to do on this one still.

Tomorrow I have a valve job and Sunday a mini Tech day at Adrians to work on his gauge.

Monday I am busy with family and Tuesday there is something I am forgetting. Wednesday I have to go to court to rid of a ticket. lol

I'm thinking it's gonna be a slow week for this project this week and last week I didn't get anything done from the eye accident.
BUT, I'm gonna get back to this for sure very soon. I'm thinking next weekend I will have time to order some more parts and write some new code and get work done on this and get more gauges out.

We had a little problem during the test run with two of the gauges so I'm trying to work that out now also.

Sorry for the delays bromans.

I was conversing with Paul last night.

It seems 3 of the first five test run worked out.

two of them did not. I was not able to make Adrians gauge work on his bike, even after trying two gauges. Also for some reason Paul was not able to get his installed on his bike and I have a hunch it wasn't his fault.

I'm wondering if some of the new parts I decided to use when I made up the first batch of gauges has something to do with it. different V-regs and different potentiometers and such.

At any rate, I don't like the hot power supply and neither do the customers it sounds like.

I think we are looking at the eventual redesign of the gauge here shortly when budget allows. As in, a new circuit board altogether. As a bonus, I will make it even smaller than last time and use a double sided PCB. for the components.

We had a couple work, and a couple did not.
50/50 is not good enough for me to release a product.

I need to redesign the gauge under a tight budget before I can give you guys a 100% failproof product that you can install without troubles.

For some reason it works perfect on my bike but others are having issues.
Honey Badger's is working and Jdoucet said his is working too with the new switches.
Adrian's did not work and Pauls did not either.
Repeatability has to be there for a successful product. Hence the test run of five to begin.

I'll get more work done on this soon.
I have to pay down the GSXr some and I have an appointment to hike 14,000 feet to the tallest summit in the united states early next month so need to start preparing now.

Keep an eye out for an eventual V3 that should work even better than V1 and V2..
It will happen I just got a million things going as usual.
I'll get out the PCB program and start fudging around with a new design I thought up.

Well just got a text from Honey Badger saying his broke now too.

For some reason I'm not surprised though being rigged with the extra hardware to fire all those LED's he wanted.

It was working for a month or so I guess.

Looks like I have the remaining working one, the one in the case. haha
Told you guys you shoulda taken that one.

I can prove it works still too all day on video..

For some reason I can make them work but when I put them into your bikes they don't work, or eventually die after working for a while.

Some of you guys have been here and seen mine working fine in person...
I don't exactly know what to tell ya!

I guess they are hit and miss.

V3 will solve this.

when V3 comes out, you guys can buy it like that or not at all.
I can't customize each thing for each of you because it may not work and may cost me more money to replace. Some of you use different lights inside your dash than this unit was designed to work with also, creating problems with the dash and the unit. Mine was not designed to work with LED dash lights. They run differently than a 12V bulb. When you guys insist otherwise, funny things start to happen.

Plus, there is always the Chinese eBay version.

Or wait for V3 when I can get to it.

It works on my bike with witnesses, I don't know what the heck went wrong guys.
All I can do is try and design one with more input protection, failsafe and noise circuitry.
Also an improved power supply.

Gotta give me heads up for trying. This stuff is hard.

Well, If it makes you feel any better, Mine still works perfectly fine... lol Only problem i have is what i believe to be a programming flaw where the LED doesnt fire downshifting from 5th to 4th. Not a big deal.

That does make me feel good, but surely adds to the mystery. hehe

The program is all one piece forever. A big block of hexadecimal gibberish. I'm wondering how a piece of the code would have been left out for this to take place?! Also, how in the world could something intermittent only happen during that time and no other?

So many questions. Hard to answer them all without an R&D team on my side.

The only way to answer them all is to start over while keeping in mind each individual problem I had and adding preventative measures for each.

the actual code itself should transfer right over from v2 to v3. It seems we more than likely have a problem with the power circuitry creating ripples and spikes and overheating and just generally not being stable.

I want to open a charger I have for an iphone that runs off 12v bike power source.
It's tiny and creates no heat and smooth power. I'll try and see if I can emulate this circuit to drive the shifter smoothly. I heard the bike can generate 400v spikes that may be playing tricks on us.

Change is good.
I'm starting to learn that only I will appreciate my own wheelies more than anyone else anyways. No need to show them off.

This is the avatar I have run in the fishing forums all this year.

One day I'll bring you a good stunt video with my own music. One day.
Too much going on for now. No good video persons around either lately.

Beware of some potential issues with the ebay version. I bought one and received it about a week ago. I installed it but it still isn't working correctly. The wire are VERY thin so splicing the wires were difficult. Also there really is no sure way of mounting the sensors near the shifter to get it to work with the magnets. I remember someone saying the Ninja doesn't have the clearance to properly mount them and that is correct. I ended up getting some bigger magnets from Lowe's and still trying to mount the magnets so it works consistently.

My switches were designed for our Ninjette but It appears I need to design a more stable board to suit my program that worked so well.

I don't get it really, the one I have on my Ninjette works excellent to this day.
The one I made in the case. It was one of the fourth or fifth ones I made and still used the newer components even.

I was going to take a nice video of it today and mount my camera to my helmet so you guys could see it but I am missing a valve cover bolt on my Ninjette right now that I gave to somebody after I broke their bolt.

I took my GSXR fishing instead and caught a largemouth bass. lol. Then released it after a pic.

When I get a new valve cover bolt I can take a new video proving I have one that works good, but where does that leave us?

I'll just start working on designing a better one I guess when I have the time.
I know I can do it, I'm just one man and frankly kinda strapped.
I also have a shot at Mt Whitney and some fishing outings coming up before the season ends.
I'm sure when the cold starts to come around I'll be ready for a nice indoor project again.

I ended up buying the ebay one, installed yesterday and works great. I had to fabricate a bracket to work on this bike but works nicely.

Only problem I have is that I dont know where to hook up the white wire from the gauge and get a neutral signal.

How can I do it. I go through all the gears but I'm just missing the neutral.

Thanks for any help.

Which one did you end up getting? I look all over ebay and the only ones I could find all said they only worked on FI bikes?

Simple fix man. The gauge is simply looking for a 12v signal when you shift into neutral. I.E. the neutral light on the bike. Simply tap into the positive wire going into your neutral light and presto!

I have a koso gauge so what wire should I hook up the white from the gear indicator if I have the koso gauge?

Thanks buddy.

First of all, let me say that I'm jealous. I've been wanting to get one of those gauges. Probably will at some point in the near future.

Anyway... It should be the blue wire coming from the harness on the koso gauge.
If it isn't that one, I'm not sure. If you have a multimeter, you can always start randomly testing wires by putting the bike in gear, start testing wires until you find one that doesn't read a 12v signal, then wile still touching that wire, shift back into neutral. If the voltage jumps to around 12v, You've found your neutral line.

EDIT: Not sure if you have an RX-2 or and RX-2N. The RX-2N neutral wire is blue, the RX-2 neutral wire is white.

Haven't read through that one. But when I get one, I'll definitely do a DIY. But if I'm not mistaken, you can get the gauge in a direct bolt on, plug-and-play kit made specially for the ninjette.

Ohhhh haha sorry about that. Well I may do a DIY on that one as well. haha For only $30 there isn't really any risk with it. Only problem is, ill have to remove my indicator that KC made. And it's sort of permanent...
