2010 Ninja Not Starting

I picked up a 250R that didn't start but the motor did turn over. When I got it home I noticed that almost every tube was unplugged and the spark plug boots were just dangling there. After plugging the lines back into the petcock and putting the spark plugs back in I tried starting it up again. The motor just turned over and it wasn't able to start. Something I've noticed was when the bike is in first gear and you try to start it, the bike pulls you as long as you hold your finger down on the start button.
Thing I've done:
- Plug the old spark plugs back in
- Drain the float bowls
- Removed janky ass paint from the fuel tank

are you saying that you have the bike in first and you are starting it (assuming you have clutch lever pulled in) and as the bike tries to start it creeps forward as the counter shaft is turning and therefore turning the rear wheel????

If so check out the clutch stuff, start at the lever and work your way down into the clutch case searching for problems.

Bike wont start, god knows when it was run last, clean and check everything, I would probably start with fuel and fuel delivery then go from there as it seems you are getting spark

Thanks for the clutch tip! The clutch cable was too tight, loosened it up and now its starts up just fine.

So the bike wasn't in neutral when you originally tried starting it?

Nope. Sounds like he's in 1st with the clutch pulled in. And the clutch cable didn't have enough slack, so it wasn't fully disengaged from the motor.
