JT 15T new gen sprocket installed incorrectly??

Wuttup guys. I am new to the forum but already love all the info that's posted on it. So anyways, I bought a JT 15t from the local Kawi dealership and had them put it on (i didn't have the tools, etc. plus they did it for only 40$).

They put it on just like the DIY shows, with the label facing OUT, not facing the countershaft like most of the riders in the forums are saying. BUT, the bike rides fine.

My question: is that safe? I called JT for official instructions, and they said "put it on just like the OEM one". They didn't have any instructions printed to send me or anything.

Well, the OEM one off my bike has TWO spacers, one on each side, where the JT 15T only has one on the side of the label.

What's the difference, and can this damage the bike? I don't want to take it back to the shop and have them redo it if it doesn't make a big difference. Plus, who am I to say what way the "right" was is? (I am sure they will be arguing that as well).

Any advise is highly appreciated. Thanks!

I did mine myself like yours (and the DIY) and hadn't had a problem in 15,000 miles.

Yo! No problems. I have had it like that for 2000 miles, bike runs fine.

Now, time to looks for a wider tire in the back..

cool man!...i just put a laser sight on mine and it lines up dead on! this proves that the label is meant to be facing out! thanx for the reply!

p.s. i recommend the Pirelli Diablo Rosso II comes in a 140/70/17 (specially made for the ninja 250) only slightly bigger than stock but will stick to ice! and you will find they run the same price or cheaper than the stock tires. top of the line rubber with only draw back being they are only about 4k mile tire. depending on how much you want to balance grip and longevity...bridgestone makes a battlax 150/70/17 that in my opinion looks too big in comparison to the bike and the front tire. not sure about price or wear rating....i think 150 is the largest you can go without modification to the bike... anyway choose wisely my friend!
