The carb was missing the needle seats

I've never hated on 500's. I've admitted freely that they feel just like a 250 with more oomph.

500's are great bikes I enjoyed the time that I've spent on my buddy's 500. Nice balance of power and lightness.

Haha I know I'm just giving ya a hard time. This thread makes me miss mine, but I'm too poor and lazy to do the maintenance on it and buy tabs lol...

OP have you checked out www.ex-500.com? Not as great as ninjette but very very helpful for 500 owners. That's a 1994 model, correct? That's pretty impressive to have a first year Ninja 500 in such awesome condition, take care of her! I wish mine was that clean.

So far I have put 200 miles on the bike and really I have no reason to go back to a 600 this bike does the legal speeds at ease and gets great gas mileage.

Great find with that mileage! I loved my 500 but I caved to my girly side and got the newgen 250. They look so much better and weigh enough less that I find them to be more nimble. At least for me
