Classy farkles?

I bought an EX250 swearing I'd keep it stock but as soon as I started tuning it up and getting it ready to ride, I caught the mod bug. Again. I gave up and just started collecting all of the stuff I was going to put on it anyway. So I'm doing the fender eliminator mod, integrated rear clear turn signals, flushmount turn signals up front with clear lenses, a black Euro Sport shield from Mike's Shields, MT75 tires for a lower profile and lower stance. I'd also like to shave the grab bar eventually or get an Airtech cowl when I have an extra $100 to light on fire.

I don't like the look of black wheels so I'm going to strip the paint. I got black reflective tape because I was impressed how noticeable they are on other bikes at night. I thought about powdercoating the wheels white. I think it would look good on a dark blue bike with silver brightwork. But it might be a huge PITA to keep them clean.

I have a gold RK chain coming in. I've got a collection of decals from the upgraded parts I've purchased. Does anyone have pictures of decals on the swingarm? I wonder if it would look ricey or silly on a tiny 250cc bike. Do you think it would be too much?

I have never been a fan of parts stickers on bikes or cars. I figure that on race bikes and cars the parts manufacturers pay/sponsor the racers to put the stickers on. Since they are not paying me to advertise for them I would raather let people guess what I have or just ask me. Just my opinion.

+1 No contingency/sponsorship - no stickers! Last year I even put duct tape over the "Kawasaki" on my tank since they weren't paying.

I kinda agree about the decals. I usually debadge everything on my vehicles. Keeps it clean looking. If there was a way to get rid of that one annoying decal remnant from the front fairing that's under the clearcoat on the tank, I would.

What do you think about powdercoating the wheels?

Semi-gloss white against Metallic Nocturne Blue (a.k.a. dark blue) with silver brightwork.

Same paint scheme as this one, but without the XTREME CYCLE decal, smaller tires and an Area P stainless exhaust instead of stock black cans. I think this guy painted his rearsets and pegs black. I'm going to axe the NINJA decal on the lower cowl but keep the go faster stripes on the rear and up front.

I like that paint scheme. If it were me, I would leave the wheels alone.

Actually the more I look at it, I love that color scheme! what year model is it ?

I have that same color bike and I think it looks so much better w/o the Ninja decals on the bottom fairing and without the Kawasaki strip on the front fairing.

if you want to change the wheels do what i did; polish them, but i guess the lip would be fine and less of a pita. it changes it and keeps it looking stock(ish). you need paint stripper, masking tape, a dremal with a wire wheel and polishing wheels, mothers mag and aluminum polish, ANDpatients!!! it takes a really long time to look good and have a mirror finish. the quick route would be brushed finish which you strip, sand with 600 grit wet dry and call it a day

I think Silver reflective wheel strips would look nice and save alot of money on powder coating. Have you considered a Zero Gravity Double Bubble? Looks awesome and is functional.
