1st oil change 600 miles, 2qts too much?
Did my first oil change at 600 miles went with mobile1 10w-40 4t. Followed the diy completely. Oil was 3/4ths up site glass when vertical after 5 min idling. That was with 2 qts. This oil is synthetic. Went for a ride now oil level is full just before the bike is about vertical. Should I drain some? Did I f anything up?

oil level should be checked with the bike warm, engine shut off for about five minutes and bike level and vertical.

Today i ran to the drug store and came back, turned the engine off, stood vertical, oil was between 3/4 and full in the site glass. I wonder if switching to fully synthetic had anything to do with it.

syn oil wouldn't make it appear different in the sight glass. its probably slight variations in how vertical it is. a couple degrees will move the oil a bit in the sight glass. If you have a 2X4 that holds it near vertical you will get a better reading (or at least a consistent reading).
