Carrying a spare helmet?
What's the general consensus on strapping a second helmet to the helmet locks on a new gen and riding around with it? I've had a few people interested in a ride on my bike, but none of them own a helmet, so I'd have to bring one along when I pick them up. I don't plan to do hundreds of KM with a helmet strapped to the tail, but more like a 20 minute ride to pick someone up.
thanks |

thats no problem, you still have the hooks with that kit, and use the holes on the sides (unless you have reflectors or turn signals their)

Wouldn't that net rub more than a helmet would? It's already stretched over the rear fairings... not sure I like that any better...

The net will not harm the paint. You will have to be careful with the hooks though.

I got a net from Harbor Freight and the rubber caps on the hooks are impossible to keep on. It's ridiculous, really. They should have plasti-dipped each hook. I'm tempted to do that but the stuff ain't cheap.
Anyway, the Kawi manual says not to carry a helmet on the hooks while riding. It probably has more to do with the strap potentially getting caught in the wheel/chain or the exhaust heat ruining a helmet than it does with the helmet being unsecured or swinging against the bike. |

you could put the helmet in a backpack, ride to your friend, give him/her the helmet, leave the backpack and in the end, the other way around
