I'm not planning on going, it could be cool if I had something that I would want to participate with but I don't and watching wouldn't be as exciting.

And this is random but Chris your username makes me think your name is Chris Hanson-one of a kind.

Bar end mirrors are finally in from Moto-Elite and I'm definitely impressed, they seem to be pretty high quality for the price.

Does anyone here with a 2008-2012 250 need an owners manual? Found one laying around so whoever needs it is welcome to have it.

Did any of you guys go for a ride sunday? (yeah still stuck in ohio) It was so nice I was wishing I had my bike all day. Saw a white 300 go by in Beavercreek too.

Yeah, I noticed that. They throw a crap ton of salt down out here. Much more than in Denver.

Spring break this early? We didn't get spring break till the last or second to last week of march.

Yeah tell me about it. No one else was home, and it was colder for most of the week than my winter break...

But I get almost a week at Easter, so it's a nice balance of hard working weeks with breaks every few weeks.

Yeah geez, is it normally this cold this time of year? If I end up out here I'd probably have to winterize the bike for a few months every year. Hope I get this job though, it would be a nice bday present to myself haha.

Usually it starts warming up a tad in March. April is when the rain starts, but has been known to be nice.

Before I was in college, the ninjette got winterized in November and taken out in March/April. Now it goes away in late August and comes out in May when I'm done.

You can usually squeeze in a few riding days during the winter but road conditions aren't always ideal. Expect to be able to ride more than just a day here and there in April. I was really hoping to get the bike dewinterized by the first day of spring but the weather doesn't look to be getting any better.

If anyone is on Dayton tomorrow there is an ohioriders meet and greet at Little York Tavern (off 75 just south of 70) at 6pm. Dinning side not bar side, all are welcome!

Got 30 easy miles in yesterday. Some of us NEO guys should meet up at Iron Pony and meet some Ohio Riders there such as snot and her husband. Need to find a good route to Iron Pony besides 71s the whole way, though. On a side note I absolutely love the bar end mirrors.

5436 Westerville Road, Westerville, Ohio.

It is right off 270, northeast of downtown columbus. 4 miles north of easton

It's about 2 hours south if you take the highway. Whenever you get back from school we'll leave early and take back roads down.

Best day of the year by far for Ohio riders. Got some cornering pics taken today in the valley (tried at least). The wind was pretty unforgiving.

I was in the valley both Saturday and Sunday too, maybe I saw you? I really wanted to hit up meadows lane for the tight turns but I was a little cautious seeing as we need a good rain to clear the roads.

I really want to head south but this weekend doesn't look that great as of now and next weekend I can't. If it stays warm and dry saturday I'll try to get down to 646 and those roads if anyone is interested in going.

Waiting for my "photographer" to send me some of the pics. Only got a few drive-bys in before the park rangers were breathing down my neck.

I went through Sand Run and down the Yellowcreek area. I'm not familiar with the number areas, what is 646?

Let me know how 646 is. I want to get to 555 sometime also. Definitely stay off meadow's road until it's clear. That one gets bad over winter.

Sand run is great for running!! I love the trails at sand run pkwy.

Route 646 is just west of Steubenville and is usually the furthest south I go before staying in that area riding around until I'm tired and head home.

If you were to do 555 you'd probably want to make it a two day ride so you could ride the other roads around Hocking Hills. And yeah meadows is iffy even during the summer months so I held off until we get a good rain.

Here we go, Sand Run. Excuse my lack of gear

Let me know when you're back from school. I'm sure Kent ends around ONUs time too. We'll have a local meeting.

Brett's the gear man. I wear a decent compromise, but I still could be a lot better. He's good with gear.

I'm going to visit Iron Pony with him soon after getting home to buy a leather race suit.

Check craigslist for gently used and sometimes new stuff. Also check the classifieds here or other Ohio riding forums. And you'll definitely want riding boots, shoes likely won't stay on in the event of a slide and if they do they'll shred in no time. What size pants are you looking for? I have some I could possibly sell you but they're for a 30-32 waist. And also what size jacket do you think? I can keep an eye out for good condition used stuff as well if you want. I also have A* gauntlet gloves in blue if you are looking at upgrading gloves.

I usually wear a 32 waist, what do you have? I would say I would need a large jacket, but not sure. 40 in chest, 5'8".

I'm being attracted to Kevlar jeans due to practicality off the bike.

I've got the Fieldsheer Mercury 2.0 textile pants. They're a 3 season pant and some of winter since there's a removable thermal liner. Kevlar jeans are alright but they add a false sense of security since they can fail just like regular pants, but sometimes they hold up pretty well. It's all about what you want you want, more safety and maybe less practical or less safety but more practical.

Haha last time Brett and I went for a ride, I got a stern talking to about wearing denim jeans

I figure I'd rather wear leathers instead of textile pants if I know I'm going for a long/hard ride. I just haven't gotten around to trying on/buying them yet. That's why we're gonna go to Iron Pony early this summer. Leathers
