I'll be out every day above 35 I can. I rode back from Oakland on Sunday with just jeans on. Had to get off 79 north and take 19 back up to Cranberry where I'm from. I couldn't feel my knees when I got home. I'm hoping the rain goes away by the afternoon tmrw, I need my bike fix >.>

The rain is the only thing killing it for me. I may not car on four wheels but I do not want to try ice on two wheels.

Do you guys in Oakland have places with garages? May be living there come fall and the place does not have a garage, so I'm not sure what I'll do. I certainly do not want to park on the street

In most places in Oakland barely have enough room for all the cars. Lots of college kids & theft.

If you're at Pitt, a motorcycle parking permit is cheap.

I'll have to look into the permit parking. Like I said, keeping it on the street is definitely not an option.

For all you Pittsburgh riders, if you ever need a place to work on the bike and have a cold one let me know, I have a full heated side access lower level to the house with good lighting.

Winter can be miserable, working on the bike shouldn't be. Let me know, place is on Mt. Wash. Cheers!

Since you've got time on your side, you can find a place with a garage if you're willing to look hard enough. A fair amount of places on Meyran street have garages on the side that faces the alley between Atwood and Meyran, but be careful as some of them don't seem to have garage doors, so they're essentially carports. One place on 351 Atwood has a nice little 1 car garage you might want to look into:

I appreciate the info. Unfortunately, if I end up going through with it, I will be moving into an apartment without a garage that my friends are already renting. I do have a few friends that live in buildings with parking garages, so I may be able to work something out with them.

Right off of Boggs dude, fairly close to everything. I had her out for the first time yesterday in months, headed over to Pittsburgh Cycle Center on 51 to get a new jacket in about an hour.

I just picked up my new boots from there a few weeks ago. I can't wait to take the bike out starting next week and really put them through their paces...
