Those with 2012 Ninjettes

Obtaining farkles aka "Sparkly Sh!t" as Outlander puts it has not been a problem with the 2012 models.

I have been trying to find a solo seat cowl which matches the new candy lime green paint with no luck.

Kawasaki does not even list it on the website but I may have found a solution.
Ninja_250R Kawasaki parts house has the complete assembly listed which shows C.L.GRN listed as the color with a price tag of $92.36 associated with it.

I shot an inquiry email to them to check and see if the color is in fact the metallic candy lime green for the 2012 models.

The price seems steep for a piece of plastic covering but have not found any other listings for the candy lime green paint.

Will post update when I receive a response from the company.

depending how good your painting skills are you can always get the paint to match your bike from here http://www.colorrite.com/matrix-colo...TOKEN=22075146 and then find a nice cheap seat cowl and try and paint it to match..

I wouldn't mind painting one myself if I had the equipment at my disposable. From a price standpoint it's cheaper to buy one already painted instead of materials and equipment needed.

very true.. i believe they make our paints in a spray can form too.. something small like a seat cowl could probably be done fairly easy with a spray can.. this all assuming you cant get one in your color and you really want one bad enough.

Spray can with a metallic paint does not sound like a good combination. Points I have learned with metallic paint is flow rate through the nozzle and drying conditions. If the paint dries with the metallic flakes out of balance with each other it looks like crap.

by the paint in a quart form.. find the cheapest seat cowl you can, take to a local paint shop and have them do it.. end result you will be the only one with a candy lime green seat cowl worth $200 lol hopefully you can just get the OEM for under $100 though

That price is pretty much standard for all of the solo cowls. With no used ones in that color out and about yet its the best you are going to do.

Umm, I wouldn't complain because $92.36 is cheaper than most people pay (dealer's price?). Most people pay about $100 + tax and/or shipping. Also, I checked yesterday and ColorRite does NOT have the paint or codes for 2012 Candy Lime Green (yet?).

Single Seat Assy: 99996-1364-15P from Babbit's Online is the correct part number and color for the 2012 Ninja 250 with candy lime green paint for those wanting a solo seat cowl.

Part was confirmed using the VIN# for my ninjette.

Solo cowls have horrible fitment. They look good, though.

Yeah I'm actually looking for a black one to match. It has "Sparkly sh!t" in the paint so I don't think a plain black one would match to well.

Well, I ordered it just before the new year and still have heard nothing, not even an email. So, I called today to check the status and was told it was on back order with no ETA, which is fine because it's too cold to ride now anyway. Buy why no email, no notification at all. they asked me if I wanted to cancel the order, I said no.

Anyway, when I do get it I will post up some pics, but it sounds like it may be awhile.

Keep in mind the cowls you buy are probably a 1 stage paint with no separate clear over it. I used zaino scratch remover step on mine and the microfiber was blue after a little buff. So painting yourself would probably yield same result.

I have the red / black 2012 250.

It's funny... the guy at the dealers told me that when I ordered my cowl that the red bike is really considered a black model!? I was like wtf really!? Obviously I knew the cowl was going to be black but kawi considers it a black bike?

Anyways sorry. This was of no help to you... My cowl was easy to order. I ordered a 2012 one (maybe they just ordered me a 2010 / 11 black one and said it was 2012) idk..

Well, I couldn't wait. Put it together in like 3 minutes, had to try it out on the bike.

Fitment, well, it's not the best. I'll get it to fit better when I have more time. But it does look damn good!!

It does look good. Minor fitment issues are normally correctable. The paint is clearly spot on perfect when installed on the bike.

I will have to order myself one.

Thanx for the pics
