What do you track day heads bring to the track?

I will be using my brother-in-law's truck. We have ramps that I can use as well.

I will bring what I need for the bike
-Extra Coolant
-Oil, just in case
-Tools
-Pressure gauge
-Air Compressor
-Tape for my lights

I also plan on bringing a cooler with some drinks and food.

I will be hanging out in a covered pit area, so a canopy is not required. I also have the required forms printed and filled out ready to go.

Anything else I need?

Will I need sunscreen? I won't really be "out in the sun" so to speak, but I'm not sure if I'll need it. Let me know, the day is on Saturday!

Make sure you actually READ or talk to someone from YOUR trackday provider...
because...
most tracks and providers have different baseline requirements and suggestions...

I do NOT tape my lights unless I HAVE to...it is a PITA...just pull the fuses to your headlight(s), brake light, and blinkers...DONE!

Most tracks I go to require NO COOLANT, only distilled water and water wetter, yours might not care...

Make sure your bike is clean and you have gone over all the little nuts and bolts and they are tight...especially the OIL DRAIN PLUG and brake caliper bolts...

DON'T FORGET YOUR KEY (you wouldn't be the first)

Make sure you have good tires...the bone stock tires on those 250s tend to suck...hopefully you have like an upgrade like Bridgestone or Pirelli Dragons...

Make sure your gear is in tiptop shape...Helmet that hasn't been dropped...etc

Go buy one of those trackday bolt kits or atleast hand with someone who does...those little bolts and fairing stays seem to wiggle loose all the time...

Make sure your oil and brake fluid is fresh...a 2007 should already have had the brake fluid changed atleast once (only front, as it will be the only one you use really)

Drink water EARLY, as in hydrate the day before...2 bottles of water for every 1 bottle of Gatorate...drink early and often...all the way THROUGH the trackday...

The LAST session is the most crash heavy, as most guys are tired and are trying to squeeze the last one in...be careful....

Remember to leave the ego at home...but then again we all have 250s so ego isn't really a problem now right?

Well this is what they say:
Antifreeze allowed: Yes
Headlight and Taillight: tape or remove
License plate removal: No
Mirrors & Signals: Tape or remove
Safety Wire: Not Required
Side Sand removal, zip tie, safety wire: not required
Tires: +50%
Boots: Leather, 3"+ above ankle
Gloves: Motorcycle specific
Helmet: Full face, Snell or Euro equivalent, undamaged
Riding Suit: 1 or 2pc (must zip together) leather or Cordura

That is the list of requirements.

Oh and no ego here. I'm there to learn, not show off.

tape your lights before hand and pull the fuse or pull the plug out of the headlight at least so it doesn't melt the tape to your light.

i bring a bunch of crap.

GEAR - yes, i've had to turn around before to get my helmet
ez-up
i bring a big toolbox, but for a track day where you don't plan on changing tires or gearing it might not be important. just bring a set of wrenches and allens.
air and guage (i do my tires at 23front 22 rear)
ice chest with lots of WATER... some gaterade if you want. easy to eat and digest snacks. you're going to be all excited and its hard to eat.
stands
sunscreen - if you don't put it on your neck, you're going to have a sunburn necklace since thats the only part exposed while riding.
gas
chairs

....

i'll post again if i think of more

Good call on the chairs Broom. I'll add that to my list. Well that and sunscreen. I had gas on there, just need to pick up a 5G can.

Should I bring a drill with a bit so I can strap plastics together if needed?

I doubt it, I won't be out there wrecking anything. If someone hits me, that is a different story.

I also take Firepit, wood, small grill, bathroom disinfectant of some kind, paper towels, good handcleaner regular soap and DRY ICE.
If you put 5 pounds of dry ice in a paper bag in the bottom of your cooler and pour a bag of regular ice over that you will not need to buy ice all weekend.

ahh... i might have to try that dry ice deal. we're always tryign to find more.

we take a grill and all the camping gear too (hand sani, towl, soap, tents, tooth brush, flash lights, etc), red rider trailer for hauling things around, pit bikes, spare parts bag complete with gearing and woodcraft goodness... i end up with a ton of stuff in the truck and trailer by the time i'm done. its quite amazing how much we've aquired over the past 5 years of racing.

my favorite trackside accessory so far is the big wheel 80 and trailer combo:

The dry ice / regular ice combo works great. Be advised the dry ice in the bottom of the cooler will turn the regular ice into a solid block so you will need an ice pick of something like it to get ice cubes for a drink.
