Alternative to Proton flushmounts?
Found this on eBay today:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Kawas...Q5fAccessories what do you guys think? I'm not a fan of Carbon Fiber but this looks good to me. Any of you guys have any thoughts about it?

Tell me about it! I'm looking everywhere right now for some that I can mod to get to work. I'm way to smart with LEDs to not be able to make my own lol. Let me know if you find anything else. I'll be looking too

The third day I had my bike I shimmed it and took out the snorkel lol Then all the mods started rolling in.
I did my own fluch mount turn signals in the rear, heres the DIY i made for it. Then the fender eliminator. Oh and painted the wind screen! http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=71441 Then made a phone mount, and wired a charger to it Then more LED's lol I pick up my 12" cf Area P full race exhaust tomorrow. I have the pods and will be jetting. Then I'm putting rearset adjusters on it and clipons. Then I hope I stop lol You should look into this if your thinking about having a more comfortable ride stance. And its much cheaper then buying a full rearset http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showt...673#post293673 |

Yes big change. it basically moves your pegs a little back and a little up. I'm not sure of you have ever sat on a super sport but it make the feeting more like that. It helps your legs pinch more against the tank also, make your legs able to relax a little. How tall are you?

Try and find someone with rearsets and see if you like them.
The2Wheels is actually the people who make the levers that everyone talks about. I'm getting mine soon too My grips and bar ends are on there way from The2Wheels I love those turn signals! I wonder what the fairings would look like though with a hole from the missing stock turn signal. Maybe there could be a blank made for it? Would be very interested in a picture of the 250 with the mirror turn signals |

Koso make good looking slim LED blinkers, they aren't flush mounts.

Those look really dark. The point of blinkers is for other people to see you.

Saw this link on another thread. I think I'll be doing this DIY on my 2011 white bike once I get it. Not sure, but it's a great idea.

Best flushmount is Watsen Design
http://watsendesign.com/ However they don't make Ninja 250 specific..you can probably get the generic version and mount it..they are superbright..I think they use CRE leds...about 100x brighter than Proton. I had Proton on my CBR and swapped it out for Watsen...absolutely no regret. |

i just put SMD LED bulbs in the stock housings. Looks great (gets rid of the egg look with the orange bulb) and cost less than $20 iirc.

You can use just about any universal ones. if you look at the signal just unscrew the black screw and you can pull the light out, just feed the new one in and secure it to the housing. You can also pick up the connectors that plug into the bike from cyclegear. They have some you can look at there. I just picked up a cheap set as i broke my left side blinker on the way to work today.
On a side note using traffic cones as practice cones as you exit a road work area is not a good way to "practice". they are roughly the same height as the stock turn signal on the 250r so if you should happen to clip one at about 35 it pops the end of the blinker off. It comes off clean even the two wires will still be usable its just that the bub part goes very far and is hard to find. |

Jeff, you broke off one of the fronts? Or the small rear LED turns that I just gave you? Just curious as it sounded like you meant the stock ones and I notice you posted this today

It was a front one yesterday morning. I stopped and picked up some universal ones to put on, I didn't feel like dooming diode and all to get protons working, I'll save that for next tech day
