Healtech Gear Position Install - Freakin AWESOME!
It's been a while guys. I've been swamped with work. In fact they wanted me to work this weekend and I told them... SCREW YOU I NEED MEW TIME!!!! I wanted to first install a gear position indicator on her and as you can tell by my vid, I installed Healtechs. I did a ton of research and for me, this was going to be the best. Completely plug and play.

Neat! How's that work exactly? I don't think I have any port like that on my bike, but I would get one of those if it were that simple for my bike.

I ended up sticking it on the very bottom of the RPM gauge. I love the fact that it is plug and play without any programming or configuring to do.

Thanks guys for the love! I will definitely post a vid to show you guys where I positioned my indicator. I'm not trying to go for the most mods in the shortest amount of time, LOL!!! But thank you for thinking so.

An old thread here but I didn't see a pic of where it was mounted in the end. Rather than starting a new thread for mine I figured I would just piggy back off this and post my finished pic...
I just used the sticky tape they include and have on the back of the indicator then routed the wire down the right side of the bike under the fairings and secured with zip ties along the way. As a small note, when downshifting through the gears, when you shift from 2nd to 1st at a stop (but haven't let the clutch back out yet) the gear indicator will still display 2 (until the clutch is let out again), on my FZ-09 it can tell what gear you are in with the clutch in, this isn't a big deal but just wanted to mention. Cheers! |

On the FZ-09 you got a real sensor with contacts for each gear (plus Neutral) and so it will always show the gear you're in. Here's an example from a gear sensor: By the way I have the Healtech now 4 years already and never saw it show a wrong gear. |
