Relax and have fun. I just completed mine a few weeks ago and had almost no riding experience but learned a lot. It's not too difficult, just pay attention and really try to learn instead of only trying to pass the exercise, and don't get egotistical thinking you're too good. Other than that, enjoy it and good job getting some training for yourself.

I'd say relax and you have little to nothing to worry about it. It's mega mega easy as long as you pay attention and don't try anything stupid.

At least here, they seem to pass just about anyone as long as you don't crash...

They take small baby steps. Its nothing to be nervous about. The only people that failed in my class were a grandmother and her granddaughter that dropped the bike 4 or 5 times. They probably would've failed if they were riding bicycles.

I just finished day 1 of my MSF course. I'm a total newbie, no experience outside of a 2hr intro course I took about 2 months ago. We started the day on the range, not in the classroom. Is this normal? And since it's supposed to rain tomorrow we spent the ENTIRE day on the range to minimize riding time in the rain tomorrow.

I will say that the box u-turn and S curves were super hard to me. Is that a pass/fail test or do they just take points off if you don't do it right? I only did it in the box and between the lines once out of like 4-5 times.

Other than than I had fun and learned a lot. One person, an older gentlemen was asked to leave as the instructor didn't think he was quite ready. One person low sided in a turn because he was going too fast and panicked by using the front brake in the turn. Interesting day to say the least.

Usually, it is not a pass/fail kind of test. I just recently took the MSF course (3-4 weeks ago) and the instructor told us he simply had to take points off if we "had a wheel go outside of the line, or if we put our foot down in the middle of a turn". So you aren't going to fail unless you a) drop the bike, or b) seriously screw it up repeatedly. I'm sure you will do fine; just make sure to have as much fun as you possibly can!

Good luck!

I totally FUBARed the box turn lol, but I passed the test and got my waiver. WOO HOO!

I couldn't help myself so I took my bike for a celebratory ride down my street and back. That was the first time I got to ride my own bike since I bought it 10 days ago.

As a person who scored 100 on the written and riding skills test, I'm not sure what all they take points off for.

I also took my bike up and down the street before having the chance to get the M on my license & any tags :P

Congrats, though!

I was the only person in my class to score 100 on the written test. I should add that we took our skills test in the pouring rain so I got points taken for the quick stop as well...guess I was being cautious and didn't want to skid or lock up on the wet pavement. I would think they'd take that into consideration but they don't. Either way, can't wait for my first official ride once I get my license!

I passed! Only ended up with 1 point for the skills test and I had a perfect score for the written. Only one person failed but he dropped the bike so...
