stupid gas station

So i left work today, had good commute home and was in decent mood. I stopped at gas station near where i live to get gas for tomorrow as i was pretty much on E. I use this gas station a good bit as it has good prices and is in a good location for me. I start filling up no problem. Tank is getting full so i let go of trigger on pump handle and the gas does not stop and is full blast. At this moment i remember "hey, this is the same pump you used last time and it locked up that day too and got gas everywhere" Today was no different. Stupid lock mechanism is busted and gets stuck on lock so i had to use my other hand to unlock it as gas sprayed everywhere all over my bike, my glove sitting in front of the tank and over my right side as it bounced off the bike.

So PISSED!! Last week when i filled up and it did this i reported it to the attendant and said, HEY, this needs fixed its broke and leaks gas everywhere.

Clearly they do not care.

Then i was worried about starting my bike and riding it home as it is drenched in gas along with myself, i had no desire to become the human torch. I sat for a bit and let most of the fuel evaporate before starting it up and riding the mile home.

So now i have to hand wash all my gear, and air dry it by tomorrow morning so i can use it as it is my only set of gear.

I hope that gas station burns down as a result of the spilled fuel.

end rant

You might have a case in small claims to get your gear replaced, especially if you can prove you said something the week before. Gas stations are heavily regulated.

He probably didn't understand your sentence without the infinitive verb to convey intention. If you told him it needed to be fixed, it probably would have been fixed.

You can always turn it off at the pump (as opposed to the nozzle) if it sticks.

Hmm.... a quick call you your local EPA or state environmental agency will get them hopping. We wouldn't want gas leaking into the earth now would we?

Oh, it's not so much Nazism as it is your failure to grasp one of the most fundamental principles of sentence structuring in the English language.

I don't know how lazy you have to be to just start leaving words out of sentences. I think this cancerous trend started somewhere in the mid-west, which makes perfect sense.

thats exactly what a grammar nazi would say.

you are fooling no one

on side note please do not scold me for not using punctuation and capital letters in my poorly constructed sentences.

Is this forum being graded? Will this be on the test later?

I am not going to get kick off the forum for poorly designed sentences will i?

Good thing i'm in science... am i right? am i right?

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to sidetrack the thread.

Let's get back to talking about you spilling gas all over the place. Twice. Are you going to shoot for the trifecta and do it again next week?

Push the fuel nosle into the tank. The slightest back pressure will stop the flow of fuel. Like when it's full. It shuts off automatically.

The pump and or my stupidity will most likely strike again. I only fill up maybe once every 2 weeks and I do sometimes use a different station on the way to work. This being said, it may be a month till i go back to this station and my lack of memory will surely have gotten the best of me by then. Add on top of that I almost always instinctively go to the same pump as it is most convenient for entrance and exit to and from the station.

Thats the point... i don't use the lock. Its broken and locks automatically and doesn't release correctly. And besides, i can't fill it to the tippy tippy top if i leave it in the tank, Dah

Then just top it off after. Less risky and you're also not holding the pump handle the whole time.

Ah my friend, you had that potential ghost rider moment too eh? Luckily for me these gas stations over here have people to do fill ups so they cleaned my bike up for me. Mine wasn't as serious spill like yours though.

I was thinking "do they not have the nozzles that shut off when the fuel hits the end?"

Then I read you do, so this is a very silly thing you did, you should be more mad with yourself.
