confused on part number for headlight relay

cant figure out if i'm looking at the right thing, and I don't want to accidentally order the wrong part again

do I want:

27002A
RELAY-ASSY
27002-1091

or

27002
RELAY-ASSY
27002-1086

i'm thinking the 27002a is the actual relay and 27002 is just the black rubber piece? idk.

help!

Thanks :]

spst relay could be bought at radio shack? then what wires would connect to it? all the wires that are going into the headlight relay?

Would this one work?

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...er=203873_0_0_

Would any SPST NO (Normally Open) automotive relay rated 12 volts / 10 or more Amps work as a substitute?

If so, the grey wire goes to post 30, the blue-yellow wire goes to post 87.

The yellow-red and the red wires connect to post 85 and 86 indistinctly.

I'm no expert but I can't think of reason why it wouldn't. I'm going to try it maybe, unless someone else chimes in!?

Ask about their return policy. A new one from Kawi is only a few dollars more.

just get new, you don't wanna go thru this twice (or you do, I never like use parts).

the one motofool posted would work, generally most automotive relays are rated at 40 amps, which is enough for what you want to do.

I'm actually on my forth relay for my horn and fog lights, the vibration of these bikes just kill them. make sure you reuse that rubber sleeve if you can.

30 A will be fine, your lights use about 5 A.

That sixth pin is not necessary and likely will interfere with the plastic female plug in your bike.

so the relay i got from the auto parts store doesn't fit on the female housing.

Any way to get those wires out of the female housing? i really don't want to break it apart..

The female housings normally have a little lip or hook that allows the the tabs get in but not come out.
Using a small flat screwdriver, sometimes I have been able to press that little lip to hook down to liberate a tab while pulling the wire out.
A third hand is helpful.

How the towing of the bike went?

Was a piece of cake. Had my girl bring my truck, ramp and straps. Got honked and yelled by idiots while chilling on the side of the highway while waiting. Had a guy w/ a brand new cbr 500 in the back of his lifted 4x4 truck stop and ask if I was alright. Also had a highway patrol check on me and asked if I felt safe lol. It was a boring wait, but I had this forum going on my iphone so all was good

I've been trying to get the damn tabs out with a screw driver for hours now. I cannot do it! Maybe I need a smaller screw driver
