exhaust + jetting?

*I tried the search and everything is a bit messy*

I recently purchased a 2009 Ninja 250 for my girlfriend,

We are now looking to upgrade the exhaust.

I was wondering... Full Exhaust at the moment we are looking at the

Leo Vince LV-ONE EVO II Full Exhaust

Area P Full Exhaust

and

Yoshimura Full Exhaust

I was wondering if installing these would need jetting also would the bike needed to be tuned?

Anyone running these full exhausts mind telling me which jet kit/tune they use?

Thanks so much

Hi!

Thanks for the quick reply

I read that thread but only thing now I am confused with is should I jet after installing a full exhaust?

Also any other mods needed after jetting and full exhaust?

yes you jet with a full exhaust and for the love of god whatever you do, don't install pod filters.

YES, You will HAVE to jet after installing a full exhaust, otherwise your bike will run WAY lean.

Got it! So is that enough or does the bike still need to be tuned?

On my personal bike I have an exhaust but all I did was re-tune the bike.

I am new with carb bikes so I am kind of confused.

Thanks

I should never have even brought them up. Its a different intake but it just makes everything worse.

Buy an area P pipe, contact @kbryant from area p and he will help you figure out what jets and needles you will need for your bike

With Carb'd bikes Jetting = Tuning. Its one and the same thing.

Got it, I will ignore that! I was hearing that I should get a different filter for it after jetting as well

This makes SO MUCH more sense to me now hahahah

I was just talking to factory pro and they recommend using the CRB-K04-1.0. Kit.

They also recommend a ignition advance as well but I don't quiet understand what that is either.

Get your jet kit from the exhaust manufacturer. Best option

You can get a different filter element if you want, thats not a big change

I have the Leo Vince full system and run the Dynojet stage two kit with #98 dynojet main jets, I also use a K&N replacement air filter(not pods). Ask anyone who's ridden with me and they tell you my bike runs great ALL the time. It even starts stone cold in the winter with no choke needed ever

Oh wow!

Thank you so much for this information!

Much appreciated!

While I am at it... What's this difference between Stage 2 and 3?

So far I know what to buy:

Leo Vince full system

Dyno Jet, Jet kit #98 main jet

K&N replacement air filter.

Am I missing anything else?

Thanks

replacement allen head screws for your carbs and a JIS screwdriver for the JIS screws currently in the carbs. I can't remember the size of the allen heads you need

Jet kit comes with the #98 mains but remember to use the #98 mains in the kit because every manufacturer of jets makes their sizes a bit different.

Oh also make sure to run the quite core insert they give you for the can, trust me it will make more power that way

Pod filters are a bitch to jet for and don't increase your max hp by much if at all

I have now been quoted to use "The Stage 2 jet kit 2193 should work well for your application.

http://www.dynojet.com/pdf/2193.pdf"

Is this what you're using? Exhaust has now arrived and now planning on the Jet kit

No reason except that they are terrible and are marketed as a performance mod when they do no such thing.

They CAN be a performance thing. But only under really ideal conditions and with runners to smooth the air.

The air box also can deliver some impressive numbers, the difference is it does this with less noise and more consistently (temp differences, etc)

I read somewhere that CV carbs (like the ones in our bikes) need smooth airflow. Which is the reason for the airbox and the snorkle positioned how it is. I've also read accounts of unpredictable RPMs when riding in strong cross-wind conditions by those that installed pods after removing the airbox (on other bikes with CV carbs).
