These results get proven incorrect further down the road by other researchers who are knowledgable about this particular subject. It happens all the time, sometimes 1 yr later, sometimes 10yrs later. But the question is how many of the incorrect results never get tested because the original people who published it are really the only people who give 2 ****s about that particular research anyway.

again in short, don't believe everything you read.
I'm on board with both of those concepts. The crux of the scientific method is repeatable results, and enough testing to confirm results not only by the original researchers, but in testing down the line as the same theories are poked and prodded in different ways. Some topics might have such limited exposure that it takes quite a bit longer for things to work themselves out. The hot-button examples in the linked article aren't subject to that limitation, with all of them getting a very large amount of scientific attention over the past few decades.

And yes, having enough of a skeptical eye to not take everything you read at face value isn't bad advice. That's not the same thing as the inverse, and instead believing nothing you read.

Caused by humans, how is that diffrerent from other "natural" triggers?

Makes me think some of us believe humans are not natural. If we get ourselves extinct or changed by global warming, maybe that's just another step in the evolution process.

Many species went extinct over the long period, and nobody's crying for them. Ones who changed are considered successful.

Getting off the original topic here, but this comment should be amended.

There are species of sharks that have remained unchanged since before the dinosaurs arose. Finding a niche and dominating it allows 'success' without requiring change.

I lol'd at this whole thread, particularly the evolution part, very comical.

Despite the amount of negative evidence regarding evolution, people somehow still think it's factual. This is why scientists constantly revise their theories and propose new, more broad ones (e.g. concept of a multiverse)", because the evidence points the opposite way.

particularly in regards to there being no fossils of animals or humans between evolutionary stages...which you think there would be at least one considering the supposed millions of years of evolution...there should be an abundance.

I also wonder how trees are found throughout multiple sedimentary layers that are considered to span millions of years...million year old trees, huh?

yea, its pretty much nonsense.

the only fact here is that earth temperature is cyclical and the most influential factors depend on sun and volcanic activity.

compared to either one, human activity is negligible at best.
the only thing AGW has done is fear monger.

its working as designed.

You say that as if it were the prevailing thought of the scientific community when in fact the reverse is the case, as you know.

the scientific "community" you mention is no consensus. there are plenty of scientists that disagree with the methods and scandal based on this "research"...

formulated from poor scientific method, the studies you mention hold no weight.

Its easier to believe in "conspiracy theories" when its clear someone is profiting from the "problem". Or rather making money by making solutions for the so called "problem".

There's no conspiracy theory, AGW is fake...
The whole thing is an onerous chain to choke parts of the global economy.

the maths dont take into account a large number of small forcings. Also the co2 forcing model cant predict accurate solar/planetary radiance factors. In addition to everything else, the metadata on the thermometers doesnt give confidence to the statisticians I've talked to.

There's other more complex reasons the AGW theory doesn't work, but ill just stop here...
