I highly recommend getting a motorcycle/atv jack
I've been busy today...and I could not have done it without my new jack! Get one, it is only $99 at Sears Hardware.
I have the tires removed for my newly arrived Sport Demons. They are at the shop getting installed as we speak. I'm also going to do my swingarm service later on once it cools off some. It is bloody hot outside.

I bought that at Canadian Tire for like $80, but when I got home I couldn't use it for my bike 08+ 250R because there is nothing to support it and the fairings got in the way, I would have to take off the fairings if I needed to jack up the bike for any maintenance and use the engine to lift it up which I didn't feel comfortable doing because of the oil filter bolt being right under the engine could screw things up real bad. So I got a rear stand instead.

Sweet! I saw some on the Harbor Freight site, and thought one of those would be the bomb! Seems a lift like that would be better than the front and rear stands.

I use a spool race stand to get the rear off the ground and a simple fork-leg race stand on the front to get my bike off the ground and wheels off. If I need to get the forks off the bike, I use a 2 ton engine crane to lift the front end right off the ground. It has always worked and I've never tried those Motorcycle/ATV jacks.
See example: That was my bike last winter.. I was changing fork seals and a few other things. The floor stands under the bike are an emergency back-up incase one of the straps holding the front end up snapped. It would hold the bike but it would be a little precarious.

I don't have enough space for all the gear in my garage. So the jack is the prize of my motorcycle tools.
Well that at my electric impact wrench. An impact wrench is a must have as well.
