Color Match for paint code 234 Passion Red

I've been repairing cracked fairings and doing touch up paint on my 2010 250R that I purchased this past summer. I've had a hard time finding a paint match for the OEM paint. My bike's paint is Passion Red, code 234. I've looked at Color Rite and other after market paint suppliers and they are either way too expensive or shipping to Canada is impossible.

So I went to my local auto parts store with a fairing to see if I could find a reasonably close match from their supply of spray cans. I found Dupli Color Bright Red code CBGM0398 which I believe is the color match for GM paint code 81. The paint matches the Kawi Passion Red pretty closely. It's not a perfect match, but then again no paint will perfectly match the 10 year old paint on my motorbike. But for what I am doing, it's close enough. No one can tell the difference unless they are 1-2 feet away from the fairing. And it's dirt cheap.

You probably know, but that's lacquer, and it won't be gasoline resistant. A good coat of clear, like Spraymax 2K, will make it a ton more durable.

Agreed. I've applied clear coat for (hopefully) a durable finish. time will tell.
