Measuring Clutch Plate Wear

While I'm waiting for my carbs, I went to take a look at my clutch plates to figure out if they were worn. My gas mileage gas been decreasing over the past year, averaging 210mi from a year half ago to around 185mi from a full to empty tank.

Took a look at clutch plates (OEM) and am about to measure thickness. When taking this measurement, am I measuring the entire thickness of both brown friction pads on both sides, or from a single brown friction pad on one side to the friction disc?

Also in terms of gaskets, anyone have experience with OEM vs aftermarket? I'm considering buying this one:

Cometic EC1135060AFM Clutch Cover Gasket

Apparently you don't need gasket sealant with this one, but not sure if it's a gimmick product

It's been a while but yes total thickness.
Majority of gaskets are good. Clean mating surface area a key and making sure you don't shift the gasket when closing it up.
