dent/bend in swing arm???

I have a dent in my swing arm on the chain side. I have read that this is a factory bend, anyone know for sure?

without seeing it, I can't say for sure, but there is a bend in it that is alarming when you first see it

Please post a pic. I just looked at my 2005 and there is just a slight bend on both sides where it curves to meet the axle bolt.

I just removed my exhaust the other day.. and I took a pic.. there wasn't any dent or indentation on the chain side on my 99.

Right at the main bend on the left side, there is a bend that looks like it was an accident. Like it isn't supposed to be there. I freaked as well when I saw it.

Looks exactly like mine so it must just be the way it is designed.

Yeah the bend is about 5 or so inches towards the engine from the chain guard mount by the rear sprocket. That one is normal.
