06 ninja 250 project (new bike owner)
So i bought my bike for 500 dollars. 6000 miles and hardly used. It has no plastics so i wanted to paint it black with a red trim and red rims. I was determining the best way to paint my exhaust from the engine to the start of the chrome tips red. Wasnt sure if anyone has painted there exhaust with success. I was informed that the engine paint isn't rated for the heat that is put out from the exhaust, and thus would cause it to peel and bubble. If anyone has any suggestions they have done or i could try it would be much appreciated. And any other tips or advice pertaining to how or what i should upgraded would be great.

Just remember, you can ride to the Golden Lion Cafe (rated number four of Florida Best Beach Bars), however; you'll need a ride home to be safe.

First thing I'd do would be install some new rubber.

Sweet! I've been trying to work up the guts to ride/work on mine in the winter weather (no garage or carport), but I want it to end up looking something like that. If you want them, I'll be removing my black fairings (undamaged, but spray painted by previous owner). The first thing I'm gonna do after removing them is get a round headlamp. You should too, though it's interesting that your turn signals are mounted to your headlamp and not the forks. On mine they are mounted to the fairing.
My exhaust pipes are black, but scratched up. Not sure if that's stock or if some previous owner colored them, but it's shiny (chromed) underneath.... Pigeonherd's 06 Ninja250 (these pics are from the weekend it was brought home) |
