Pictures - 2008 Ninja 250R with Monster Graphics

Kelly, Managed to track down some pictures of Ninja 250R SE. They were sent to me from Newport Motorsports and are pics of my bike before the hair dryer treatment. The pics are in an attachment. My dinosaur computer can forward the pictures, but I need an E-Mail address to forward to. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Alex -

Here's a thread with instructions on how to load pics to this site:

http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=5611

I can't wait for you to pick up a $100 digital camera so we can start seeing the mods you're doing to your bike!

Alex, the pictures were sent by newportmotorsports@adelphia.net. The communication is in my inbox for my E mail. I can`t seem to separate the attachment from the message-the attachment being three pictures. As you have probably gathered by now, I am a total baloonfoot on the computer. Is there an Email address for the manager of this forum (you) and I can send it to you. You can do anything you want with the pictures. It does not matter to me if the forum coordinator has my E mail address.

I'll PM you my email, and you can forward it to me if you wish and I'll post 'em. All I'm saying is that if you've figured out how to post a new message here (which you're doing real well!), I'm confident that with a little trial and error you'd be able to get pictures up here as well.

Alex, Thank you for your patience--you know about "Old dogs" and new tricks. I forwarded the pics. Hope they came through. I should probably use the nickname I go by "Doc" to eliminate confusion. I think we have three Alex`s on this forum.

I think I would have removed them soon after taking possession as well, just as you did.

Alex, Now you know what I meant when I said they were wicked ugly. I did keep the graphics in the lower left quadrant--distinguishes the bike from others. I get enough comments about geezers on sport bikes. That would have been over the top. Thanks for getting the pics out to our family.

Ken, To the best of my knowledge, the dealer put on the decals, which gave him an excuse to charge $150 over MSRP. Since I wanted the bike in June, and it was the last one available in Maine, I bought it. The decals are available on E-bay. The dealer was had a fairly high sleaze factor, which is why I don`t deal with him. We have an excellent dealer in Ellsworth, ME. and two exceptionally talented pritvate shops here in Belfast. I do think that the dealer tried to have us believe that it was a factory job. The decals had some bubbles and were not something Kawasaki Quality Control would have let slip by. Hope that answers your question.

Yes, Kelly, it is indeed Green. To answer the question of a previous poster, I did leave the NInja decal on the tail. The only thing I took off was the Monster stuff--really tacky. My father-in-law lent me his Sony 10 Megapixil (whatever that means) camera. You will definitely get pictures in a short time

Yikes! And I thought mine was wild--- Last year when I rode my bicycle in the Trek Across Maine, Monster Energy passed out cans of theit drink as a promo. Poured a can into my water bottle and rode on. About five miles down the line, I took a swig. Blue, That was some foul tasting stuff. I was glad that my second bottle was full of water.

I don't like most energy drinks. In fact I haven't found one I liked. Probably a good thing considering I get enough energy by normal means

Nemy, For sure. Your graphics are in good taste and look great. Blue, I was advised to stay away from energy drinks because of the high salt content. I have Hypertension and take meds for it. Of couse I am in complete denial--which drives my wife crazy. There is no reason on earth that I should act like a 67 year old.

You know, it's rather strange, but I'm not really a fan of the limited edition green/black colors--just not my cup of tea. Personally, I'd prefer one of the red or blue 09 250R's.

I do like the monster decal you added though Nemy.

Kelly, Today Alex graciously posted 10 pictures of my Ninja. The modifications (add ons) include, a tank pad, cycle luggage from Sam`s Club, fog lights (Wal Mart), bulbs are GE#99270 50W Halogen available at most hardware stores--for track lighting, Mirrors from a Kawasaki 10X, Crampbuster on the throttle, fender modification was to simply cut off the bottom and round it off. I added a bike reflector and some reflective tape. I followed a red Ninjette with its fender cut off on a wet road and could not see its tail light due to the spray the rear tyre generated. I thought that my solution was an improvement aesthetically over the original. The pictures were taken in my bike shop--where I spend a lot of time. The red and black cage is a 95 3/4 Ton 2WD Suburban with a 6.2L Turbo Diesel. It stayed inside because it was four degrees below zero outside.

lol neither was I when I first saw them on the kawi website... I knew I had to get green though (ninja's should only be green ) so I pasted the picture on my wallpaper... and after staring at it everyday and seeing live pictures I've gotten accustomed to it... Not sure if I like them or just accustomed to them haha

Do you have any night pictures Alex? I'm thinking they must look pretty sweet when they're on. And are they running lights or did you wire them to a switch/hi-beams?

LOL!

They didn't make a "mean green" 09 250R, did they? If so, I must have missed something. I'd MUCH rather have a green then that two toned special edition. And I think I've also grown a little on it, but I still don't think I'd want it for my personal bike.

I've been looking a lot at the candy thunder blue, but you know, the sunbeam red has really got my attention now. Better watch out for the 5-0 though..

It's been rumoured that the black graphics on the 09's are vinyl stickers that can perhaps be removed. No confirmation on that, though. You may want to ask IBJAMES, who owns a SE 09.

Tony, To my knowledge they do make a 2009 Ninjette in green. They do, however distiguish the 09 from the 08 by putting in a white panel on the 09. I would suspect that the panel may be vinyl, in which case a hair dryer would make short work of it should the new owner not like the white.

Sorry to go off topic but Alex I have a random question for you...just wondering where did you pick up your English spelling? I've noticed in a couple of threads you spell certain words the "proper" way(Colour and tyre). I think it's way cool. Do you or very recent family come from England or is do people from Maine just spell certain things in the English manner...just interested cause I wish I could do it haha

Thanks for the clarification. I obviously was under the mistaken impression even the black was a decal.

Matt, Several people have mentioned that. I suspect it has to do with a reflex sort of thing. I am originally from what was called Yugoslavia and our family emigrated to the US in 1955. My mother went to school in the UK--has a doctorate in Structural Linguistics. She taught us the writing (and spelling part) of the English language. Not knowing some of the more subtile nuances of the English language--namely, American, I was taught the King`s English by my mother. In school, I was never corrected because it was considered correct spelling. I spoke no English until I reached the seventh grade. School was tough for me in those days because my peers took a great delight in tormenting me due to my accent. (which I no longer have because I took tons of speech classes in college). To end the bullying, I got into the Martial Arts very early. I also boxed Golden Gloves in secondary school. I will endeavor to speak American on this forum.

Oh no please dont speak american...its very boring and I in no way wanted you to think I was bullying you haha. I think its awesome and it adds to the individuality of your posts. Was just interested in the background behind it and very interesting...its too bad though that you got bullied into losing your accent but I'm sure it made your life a little easier as well as a little more boring now blending in to all us average people haha. Thanks for the story I really enjoy learning about different life experiences and how they turn a person into who they are and it seems like the people on this forum have a lot of different ones

Hmm, considering a (real) ninja is supposed to be stealthy, which black is the best for. I too agree that the ninja bikes look the best in green

As soon as I saw the green and blue colours, I was trying to decide between them, but I can't get the blue in NZ, so I was sold on the green! and I have since seen another Kawa with the same blue (can't remember what model it was) and the green is the best.

green FTW! And don't forget we don't need to be black to be stealthy... cause greens are faster than the human eye!
