From the video description: "this is a lot easier if you have the bike on both a front and rear stand"

Yeah. I was surprised that the video didn't mention that you need to unload the front forks and set up so that pushing down on the cap doesn't compress them further. A triple tree stand works. A $10 puller tool from Lowe's helps too.
