Jeff, I know the feeling. I bought a brand new bike in November, was able to put 200mi on it, and store it. We are entering our second week of below zero temperatures. I am praying for an early spring. I would like to spend some time in Maryland and the Carolinas this summer.

I've been off the bike for almost six weeks now -.- just had ACL reconstruction surgery done and I can't ride for a while. The doctor's initial estimate (he seemed taken aback by my question, as if he's never encountered it before, thus I take his advice lightly) was FOUR MONTHS before I could ride again. So many perfect days (roads are dry and sun is shining) of riding spent wasting away indoors!!

I can relate! I've ridden about 400 miles TOTAL since rupturing a disc in August 2009. I've only ridden 35 miles in 2011 so far. Luckily it's cold and pouring down rain here today so I don't have to be depressed for the time being.

I just had two epidural steroid injections on Thursday; my doc hopes that I'll be doing 200 mile days again by the end of summer (I'm at ~40 miles at a time now).

Getting it back? You're in LA. Don't tell me you took it to a dealer for work (unless it's warranty)...

+1

I haven't ridden since late October.

And I have a race in Feb. Man, talk about butterflies, if not fear.

Carolyn, Sure hope you feel better. I thought that I tore up a disc when I fell off my house in November--turns out that I messed up a tendon.

I was wondering if wearing one of those elastic back braces that warehouse people wear would help. I have seen some people wear a leather belt that weight lifters wear--mostly H-D Hardtail riders. Might be worth a try.

I actually just got one of these! No idea if it'll help but I'll give it a go!
