Anyone have a screw extractor? The PO broke the front brake bleeder screw off and I don't want to drill it.

Well, I bought an extractor bit. Managed to drill through the bottom of the brake bleeder screw though. So now I definitely can't ride until I fix it.

Also FINALLY found the last source of my oil leak. A gasket in the oil pump. Having a helluva time getting the pump off though. The screws are on there GOOD. Will probably replace with hex or allen head bolts. I'll eventually replace them all, but for now it's just as I go along. Phillips/flathead screws on an engine are the WORST.

Any rides happening soon? I can finally bleed my brakes now, so I won't feel like I'm going to die doing twisties. Still waiting on fork parts though

just go do the course. it's the best way to really get a grasp on your own. so YOU can learn and develop, cos he wont be there in a pinch and so on.

Honestly, the rider course is piss easy after the two days of instruction/riding. The only reason you wouldn't pass it is because you're either deathly afraid of the bike, or you have like, vertigo, and can't keep yourself upright to save your life.

And from the sounds of it, you're not either of those, and you already have a leg up on some of the other people by having actual experience on a motorcycle.

Another suggestion is to take the Experienced Rider Course (also at Leeward) when you're comfortable with riding your bike.

Anyone interested in a lightly used Lockhart Phillips rear stand? I only used it 5 or 6 times, and never for more than 15 minutes at a time. I just don't need it anymore since my bike has a center stand. Like, $50? (cost $120 new)

they don't get into too much detail here, but this is a video from msf: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prR20YZtPGU

the hardest one for me was the tight figure 8 in the box. everything else was pretty easy. they go at a pretty slow pace.

as far as large parking lot... i don't know of any down that side. kapiolani community college's parking lot is great on weekends and times like now when school is out of session. can't you use leeward community college's one? idk.

At LCC they have signs all over that say "no driver education" or something. Not sure how serious they are about it though, but if you want to risk it, go ahead. They have 24/7 security guards, iirc.

trick to the figure eight is friction point and counter balance...and always, looking through

there are tons of lots..just gotta ride to them all first. just take the course, it's not hard, and you'll learn more with a fresh open mind then thinking of what a non pro showed you. these guys are gonan give it to you in the most basic, plain english and you get to freely wreck a bike that isnt yours.

The BRC is a great confidence builder. The funny thing is after I completed the course, I could benefit from more practice.

I had the Dunlops at one point, but replaced it with Bridgestone. I preferred them more than the Sportmax Q2 but Dunlops make good tires.

Btw, does anyone here do their own valve adjustments? I would gladly pay for your time to do mine. PM me if you do so that we can work something out (schedule, etc.)

I've done my own valve adjustment, but those are tappets (has an adjusting screw with a locknut), not shim style adjustment.

If you have basic tools I'm sure you could figure it out yourself (unless workspace is an issue).

I'm sure someone'll chime in.

Also, bump.

Anyone have like, a half-full container of fork oil? I need something like 1/3 bottle for my forks, and I don't feel like buying a whole new bottle. Will pay for it :>

If not, I may just go oldschool and use some ATF ~_~

Anyone have a hookup, or at least recommendation for powdercoating? I need my frame powdercoated, but I don't want to get ripped off, especially with "island tax."

I've already emailed a few places, but whatever they come back with, I'm not sure if it'll be worth it.
