I love the design and look of the Knox Handroid but the price is more then I can currently afford. Hopefully by this time next wear I will have a set.

My new gloves arrived just in time my for my ride to the beach last weekend.

Teknic Xcelerators

and I was able to squeeze these Arctiva liners underneath of them.

Kept me pretty comfortable in 40-50 degree weather.

I have pretty huge hands and the XL fits reasonably well .

Did a very shot 3 mile ride around the block just to test the feel - far more constraining than the cheapo gloves I've been wearing, but they feel rock solid. I also didn't realize they vented nearly as much as they do .

Cortech Adrenaline gloves

Been using Held glove liners this fall (not really that effective, sadly)

Looking at Handroids or Held gloves for my next pair.

So, you're saying they're entirely ostentatious and almost entirely devoid of any actual capabilities despite there rugged appearance?

Currently, black Cortech Accelerator 2s. Currently looking at some of the Dainese gloves, does anyone know how good they are? Any recommendations? BTW no winter in Hawaii.

An update on this: I called RevZilla, and they directed me to Alpinestars support. Only a minute or two on the phone and I have an RMA number. The downside? Roughly two weeks until I get them back (5-8 business day turnaround time + shipping both ways).

Just my luck .

here is a thought. buy some locally. then return the other pair when you get them to the store... I think that would work

I just use cheap mechanix gloves--not the best, but better than nothing. They're my shooting gloves too.

I may upgrade eventually..maybe use these as a stepping stone to real ones:

Um, I'm just not that I into the whole AGATT (?), since literally, I hop on the bike for 1.5 to 5 minute rides on 2 to 4 occasions every other day. The furthest I go is 10 minutes, and with the exception of 100 yards on a 4 lane road, it's all 2-lane.

I don't want to get dressed and undressed all day, and all those gloves look like major racing stuff...I just want some protection. If I found a more casual looking pair at a price I could afford, I'd get them. I just had two pairs of these from shooting, and I like the increased tactile feeling as opposed to giant bulky gloves. Those Cortech Accelerator 2s looked great, but he said they fall apart.

AS I GET better and start pushing things more (I can feel this happening as I get more familiar with the bike), I'll probably start looking for some casual good gloves--the hockey goalie storm trooper stuff seems like overkill for an errand runner....so far, this bike is just my glorified scooter.

Note: It also may hark back to riding power lines in GA...my dad and I just wore our leather work gloves to protect our hands from all the branches and stuff. I know AGATT is best...if I was a commuter, racer, or even rode 50% more, I'd look into it. I still may. These do seem like good gloves...I know half of an a-team who's worn them for the last 5-6 tours, but then, they kinda pride themselves on being cheap and solid (some still use the old TA01nsn cogs and those little colt 4-position stocks instead of the newer whiz bang stuff).

@evi1joe Oh I see. Be careful out there. All it takes is that 1 time and most mistakes are made by new riders right around their home. Just a FYI. Btw, there are gloves that arent that intense. There are super simple short cuff gloves that dont have all those logos and hard protection that would still protect better from abrasion than mechanics gloves. Wouldnt cost more than $20.

As for other types of protection... shop around and you'll come across some very very casual gear that look just like normal clothing you'd wear around except under it'll have armor and the material is made to be more abrasion resistant.

Again, be careful!
