Gday new here, bike idles down very slow!
Hey everyone, picked up a 88 250 ninja and had to clean the carbs and put a few things back together, still haven't got the air box on due to no screws for it... But to the point when I start it up and give it a squirt it takes a while to idle back down, just wondering if I haven't put a hose on somewhere or what's going on??

That's typical of a vacuum leak or very lean condition.
Check the rubber boots and connections from the carb to the engine by spraying some carb cleaner on them and listening for a change in RPMs. What did you set the idle mixture screws at? 2 1/2 turns out is a good starting point. They are fuel-bleeds, so turning out gives a richer mixture. |

Yes, the lack of air filter makes the mix lean, which keeps the rev's up, as pointed above. Check that the throttle cables are fully releasing the butterflies in the carbs, aas well as the choke cable is fully releasing the choke's plunge via some slack and quick return. Those cables and the throttle handle always appreciate some lubrication.
