No, it's really just a stretchy pants that hold armor. You'd still need some sort of outer protection. If you want to just wear your work pants it's probably easier to get some overpants and just take them off when you get there.

Everywhere I work, I always have a locker room type place to change and keep stuff so I probably have it a little easier.

You can. Might be a bit bulky, but I've worn them under jeans before. I guess it also depends how tight your pants are.

An overpant is also a decent idea, so you'd just take them off at work. Those are built to go over your regular clothes. I don't have any experience with those, though. Good excuse to go shopping, try everything on, see what you like.

I actually drove all the way down to motorcycle super store a few month back and all the over pants for women were west too tight, and the men's were WAAAAAAAY too long, like 6 inches too long, no able to be hemmed.... I probably won't go that route until I lose a significant amount of weight or grow 6 inches lol

There was a thread that led into the topic of gogo leggings and how they were not properly tested and whatnot.
Just so you know.
Because I wanted them too but everyone talked me out of them, my bf included and he's not even part of this forum!

KEvlar has been tested tho, and the armor is CE approved. So its either reg jeans, which are REALLY not tested or go go gear/ kevlar jeans I really do not want to suit up in full leathers for a commute to work, so its got going to happen lol

Right, but the company that makes the gogo leggings didn't properly test them.
I'm not saying you shouldn't buy them.
I just want you to be aware

It's really not that much of a hassle to swap pants/shoes, if you wear dress pants, wrinkles could be an issue though. When I had a locker at work, I commuted on my Ninja sometimes. I had Alpinestars over pants that that I wore over my slacks, but now I'd just wear my leather pants and switch pants, it only takes an extra minute, the shoes are coming off anyway.

Currently I literally have nowhere to safely store my gear at work, we lost our lockers. Quite a bummer, because motorcycle parking is way closer than the regular parking lot.

GoGoGear is a small company as far as I know, and likely doesn't have the cash to test it. Testing is expensive. A lot of things are manufactured to a standard, and not tested as an end product, though a friend took a low-side in her leggings, and not only did the rider come out uninjured, the pants still look great. So that's a point in their favor, in my opinion. From a rider that I actually know, not hearsay.

My philosophy remains that some protection is better than nothing, and that I will never achieve perfect.

you can probably get away with a top like this? a lot of ce armor, but not much for abrasion resistance. although the whole suit is covered in armor with only a few areas exposed that can rip.

Since we are still on pants right now, has anyone tried these?

or http://greatbikersgear.com/product/g...ar-jeans-blue/

they come from the UK and say they are Kevlar reinforced with armor.

"KEVLAR
Kevlar-reinforced helmets, Kevlar-strengthened gloves, Kevlar suits.. new materials sound great for advertisers and few manufacturers can resist putting just a little, low-quality Kevlar in their products to give them that scientific-sounding edge.

It’s a load of cobblers, because in protective clothing too little is used too sparsely. Kevlar can work, but normally at least two layers of good-quality Kevlar are needed to give adequate abrasion resistance. An average-standard Kevlar will tear open far too quickly to make it worthwhile (see tear-time table).

When World Superbike runner James Whitham tested the abrasion resistance of Kevlar on his knee sliders last year, the material burst open almost immediately. The leather he tested stayed intact."

To save you the click, here's what you'll find at that morebikes article. The pair on the left are "premium" jeans (Hood K7s), which go for $159 US. You'll note that while they stayed intact, after the test they are pretty much trash. Leather pants would survive that and still be usable (I see guys at the track all the time in gear that's been crashed. It's dirty and scuffed but still usable.)

The pair on the right are Kevlar jeans, all right, but a less-expensive pair.

Kevlar alone DOES NOT mean the garment is protective.

This is exactly why I choose not to wear kevlar jeans.

Why is gear so hard lol. I really dint want to gear up in fill leather to commute to work. But I want to be better protected than wearing jeans to ride (which is what I am currently doing)

I really like looking casual.

I really like my skin, that's why suited up most of the time; I felt free, and safer.
I've seen folks ride naked before, it's not for me; then again they aren't me.
The most important thing is for you to do what you are comfortable with

Then again I think gear is sexy, and I love the feel of the wind piercing the perforations and chilling the sweat all over my body!
