knee pads

So since my crash i have been looking to get knee pads / riding pants. Knee pads for commuting to school which is mostly highway and pants for joy riding through the twisties for the extra butt protecting in case of a lowside.

Anyone have any thoughts on these pads?

I originally wanted these but when I tried them on they seemed way to bulking for my legs and they would not fit right with my boots.

I got these this week. So far so good. I wear them under my jeans, they tuck fine into my TCX S SportTours. Will likely upgrade these to something else next year.

For butt protection I went with Knox Cross Shorts Really like these so far.

I’ve had the Icon Field Armor Knee/Shin guards for more than a year now and worn them every time I jump on the bike. I’m thinking of replacing them soon because they’re starting to fall apart at the straps. Buddy of mine bought the Strykers and I was able to try them out. As was mentioned by Legend they’re bulky and what killed it for me was the two strap set up. I felt it shift and move around too much for me, and they were kind of uncomfortable when walking around unlike my old pair (wearing them under jeans).
That’s just what I thought about them, I’m going to buy the Dainese Knee V and see how those turn out most reviews seem positive. Also you can check out Webbikeworld for a couple reviews of some knee guards. Including a review on the A* reflex.

I think skateboard knee pads would not work well. They are small and meant for a slick surface to slide on. Id think they would go straight down to your feet in the event of a 30 mph direct contact with the pavement.

I use these - http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dainese-knee-v-guard
I noticed another member mentioned he/she uses them as well.

I had a very low speed lowside and the bike landed on my leg, knee hit the ground and they worked as advertised.

Now those pads are the best I've seen with the highest ratings. I'm probably going to get these and the shorts from above instead of kevlar jeans. Can't be wearing the same jeans everyday I ride, which is almost everyday

I use them. I wear them under relaxed fit jeans and they fit great. A part of the shin guard will be tucked into a pair of full size boots (SMX5).

I have not tested them in a crash.

I have a pair of these http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/f...knee-protector. They are the most well made piece of armor ive handled and I find them pretty comfortable. I wear them under Kevlar jeans every time i ride. I just wish they had a strap to hold on above the knee.

I too wear these everytime I ride. I think they are comfortable and find that they tuck under my boots nicely. I wear them under jeans or dockers with no problems. I wouldnt trust them not to slip around, especially in a get off, if I wore them over my jeans though.

I have found that they:
1. trap heat and block any airflow to the lower leg.
2. look like you're wearing kneepads when you are walking around if the pants arent loose enough. (I dont mind cause it makes me feel like a BA but you might)

The only reason I wear them over my jeans is because I can get them off easily when I am at a restaurant or somebody's place……. Although I agree they would not move around in a crash if they are directly in contact with skin.

I use these

http://redlinegear.myshopify.com/col...-ce-knee-guard

RS TaiChi they are the same as the KNOX Flex Lite Knee Guards

Under relaxed fit jeans you can not tell that you are packing protection.

If KNOX Cross Knee Guards where available in Canada I would have bought them.

I got them because I could pick them up local, they are the same as the Knox.

The problem with the 661 stuff that I have seen is that it is a little bulky, as it is for off road use.

I really like the idea of these, but I was wondering if there were other similar alternatives available... They're available in both Lycra and Mesh materials, depending on the weather...

Ahh well, some search on the net got me this... http://www.revzilla.com/armored-under-pants
